If you don't subscribe to Game Informer, you should pick up their latest issue. It has an expected preview of web rush, and combat, and stealth takedowns and an AMAZING new image of spidey at night.

Mine should be coming in the mail this week. Thanks for the heads up.

Can someone scan the article? I don't get Game Informer and I want to see it.

Yeah, this.

I wonder what possible new insight this next preview will give us. I've read pretty much every available single review of the demo footage and I've seen all the interviews with Dee Brown...I guess my point is, what else is there to talk about regarding the demo? Is there really anything left to dissect about the same piece of demo footage? Don't get me wrong, I'm still very much excited for this game but honestly I feel like I've been beaten over the head with the same explanation of the Web Rush...it's great that everyone seems impressed by it...but how about something new to look at for us fans? I don't think that's too much to ask.

lol, this interview with Dee Brown had me cracking up! Check it out. Some really good info though and Dee even mentions there will be DLC for this game down the road. Awesome.

Haha I love Hip Hop Gamer.

Shattered Dimensions voice acting is miles ahead of the PS1 games. Spider-Man is basically the only good thing voice acting wise in those games. I'd place Shattered Dimensions or Ultimate Spider-Man at the top. (I actually liked Sean Marquette's Spider-Man.)
Jennifer Hale as MJ & Black Cat?
Efrem Zembalist as Doc Ock?
Darran Norris as JJ & Venom?

I read the GameInformer article yesterday. I'm a PowerUp Rewards Pro member at GameStop, so I get an issue every month. The article didn't tell anything I didn't already know was going to be in the game. There might have been some new gameshots, but I wouldn't know since I was on vacation for a week and maybe I missed some stuff. Also, the review was for the PS3 and XBOX 360 versions and the ones I pre-ordered was the 3DS and DS versions.

So any predictions for how many bad reviews this will get? I also predict there will be atleast one level where you fight big generic robots because the boss sicks them on you.

If the game is good, I'm sure it'll get mostly good reviews, but there might be some people that give it a bad review. I like to decide for myself whether a game is good or bad, so even if I do read a review before getting a game, I take it with a grain of salt.

Do you guys think that it could surprise everyone like Arkham Asylum, and be as praised afterwards?

I pretty much figured we weren't going to get any more new info regarding the game. All the info is still based off the demo footage that came out a month ago.

I would hope so. I was just thinking about this not too long ago about prior to the release of AA. I wasn't very excited for that game initially because every Batman game prior to that one was complete garbage and with a history like that, it makes you think negatively. But then more and more info started coming out about AA and my excitement level grew until finally we got a look at a playable demo and it was like "holy crap!" I remember how awesome it was and it just went thru the roof. My first time playing it was very memorable and it truly is such a great game. Yeah, so I think it's time Spidey gets his due as well and maybe TASM is it.

Yeah there will always be those who will give a mediocre rating at best no matter how good the game might turn out to be I think! Many reviewers rate games based on the games' status, like how I think many do with some Halo games. I mean, no matter how great the Halo games are gameplay wise, high ratings for its graphics aren't justified. No way a movie tie in superhero game about Spider-Man will get the ratings it deserves if it's a great game. For example, if the sound quality is much better in ASM than that in a Halo game, it still wouldn't get a higher rating in that department. Because Halo is Halo, Spidey is Spidey.

As I said above, no matter how great it might be, it will still get some picked out cons just to have a reason to give it lower than it deserves I think. However, if it turns out to be an Arkham Asylum high quality game, it will definitely get the status of being the best Spidey game of all time.

As much as I would like to argue against this point, it is probably true. Sometimes I feel like just because it is a Spiderman game it is already going to get a low rating to begin with and people will focus too much on the cons...also it's an Activision game and I think a lot of reviewers have a chip on their shoulder about them. Maybe TASM, if it is a truly great game, will reverse this mechanism.

The only thing that speaks for it getting justified great rankings (if it's a great game) is that the previewers seem so positive about it. But it still feels like, overall, it's cool to like Batman and uncool to like Spidey.

I hope it surprises me, and surprises most by being really good

And he hits the right tones

Quite a few people who've seen the demo have said that this game gives Arkham City some competition. Which is a very big thing to say.

But that makes me happy to hear.

I don't think we've heard anyone say anything bad about the demo so far. It's been pretty much unanimously praised.

One previewer said that the Rhino battle that was shown felt a bit uninspiring. However, he said only positive things about everything else and was very optimistic about the game.

It's funny cuz the bane fight in AA reminded me of The Rhino from neversoft's game.
