hey, i'm new here. how do i add a profile pic? and a signature? thanks

If I remember correctly, you can't yet use a profile pic. But if/when you can, go to your user profile, customize profile, and on the left side there are many options, including edit signature, and edit avatar (profilepic)

You can't use a big profile pic until you have made a certain amount of posts

Boring already?? lol. Why's that?

From what I've gathered the slow motion/first person viewed web rush mechanic is there intially so you can get good at using the web rush and making sure that you dash to the correct location. Once you get good at using the web rush mechanic, you probably won't need to use the optional slow motion effect and can quickly just dart around the city. However, I still think the slow motion web rush mechanic you will probably still use when you need to pinpoint something in particular when in a combat situation, i.e. trying to get directly behind a guy so you can take him down.
oh, its optional

I hope they will have the game plus mode that Arkham City had, it was pretty cool playing through the story with every gadget & being difficult from the start
This reminds me of RE5, I wish they copy the feature from that game here, choosing levels and difficulty to replay

I'm pretty sure that's it. They said the Web rush icons will look like Spider-man silhouettes when you look around the city and will be subtly highlighted on screen. I guess maybe once you select one to go to, it shines brighter??

I'm really interested in the Web Rush ability. I thought the Web Zip and perch points in Shattered Dimensions was a good feature and really helped give a fun way to move around indoor levels as well. One thing that's been missing in the fun free-roam games is precision in your locomotion, so it sounds nice to be able to swing around like crazy still, but then choose a precise location to travel to when you want to.

I've been looking at a lot of the trailers and have noticed the Spidey silhouettes in several shots. It seems that there may always be one silhouette visible at all times, possibly based on the direction Spidey and/or the camera is facing, like Shattered Dimensions and the grapple points in the Arkham games. You can see them fade in and out in the trailers sometimes as Spidey moves around.

I'm also wondering if the slow-motion, jerky way of moving around with Web Rush constantly that was mentioned in some articles is just a short slow motion effect when you first trigger it as Spidey shoots his web to pull himself forward. From the trailers, it looks very similar to the initial slow motion effect in Web of Shadows' Web Strike move. I'm speaking here of moving around in advanced mode, and not the first person slow motion mode.

Also, it's hard to tell in the screen below, but when watching this part of the trailer in slow motion it looks like the two yellow blurs in the upper left fade in and out like they might be silhouettes as well. It makes me wonder if once you trigger advanced Web Rush, then several different silhouettes will be visible at once that you can target and move towards.

I really want to see gameplay of this feature in action and not just quick cut trailer shots. It looks like it will make the locomotion even more exciting.

Wow, hadn't seen those silhouettes before in that footage. Nice eye 20glyphs!
I'm really looking forward to seeing the first gameplay footage.

oh, its optional

Yup. It was confirmed in several places that the first person/slow motion "bullet time" web rush mechanic is an optional control. From what I've read, it appears that to use the web rush instantly you tap RB but to use the slow motion effect, you hold down RB.

NYC enviroment.

We haven't had good free roam NYC since SM3 (PS3 and XBOX 360).
Prototype is great, and has a more accurate Manhattan than any Spidey game so far

Well observed, and welcome to the boards :)
I'll link your post in this thread

Miles_Morales, I won't ignore welcoming you as well, so Welcome :)

First off, welcome to the boards! :woot: I agree that I liked the idea of the web zip that was featured in both SD and EoT. The web rush seems to be the web zip move only expanded and improved. Beenox is using this mechanic as a way for players to be able to control Spidey in a way that takes full advantage of his incredible grace and agility. And that's something that has been missing from past free roam Spidey games, the ability to precisely control his movements and do so in the blink of an eye. Spider-man can go from the floor to the wall to the ceiling with such ease and this feature seems to allow the player to do just that.

I've been looking at a lot of the trailers and have noticed the Spidey silhouettes in several shots. I have seen those silhouettes as well and to me they also seem to be just like those grapple points seen in AC. As Spidey changes direction, as the camera changes direction different silhouettes will become visible. That's how it looks in the trailers.

It's quite possible. We'll need to see more of the web rush mechanic obviously to be able to tell exactly what's going on.

According to the interviews I have seen and read, when you enter the slow motion/first person mode there will be a bunch of highlighted areas to choose from. It looks as though when you are not in first person mode, only one or two dash points pop up at a time.

Prototype is very good for the free-roaming imo. Gives me some super-powered fun whilst waiting for TASM ;)

i second the welcomes btw (being new myself i recognise how great they were when i first posted on this forum)

feature i miss from the ps1 games would be the different types of webbing. Ice webbing :P

Do we know if this game will be 3d accelerated?

Aren't all the games 3D accelerated since the 90's? I remember those Geforce 256 form 1999 that were almost the only ones with the 3D acceleration option.

Now, if you mean 3D as view mode (stereoscopic 3D), we don't know. Probably not.

And also, I just want to remind everybody, there is also the underground NYC to explore :awesome: the detail and free roam!! Ahh

There is gonna be a subway and sewer system again, like in SM3?

Cheers to the user who posted that e-mail. I'm a huge fan of Collector's Editions. And web-rush looks cool with those gold silhouettes.

Beenox stated there will be areas to go underneath NYC. They didn't specifically say the subway/sewer system, but what else could 'underneath' possibly mean.

Satan's realm of Hell...that would be INCREDIBLE. imagine, web rushing inches past demons and fire pits, to perch nimbly on top of a jagged rock edge, overlooking endless fire valleys and blood pools.

I CANT WAIT FOR THIS GAME
