Horror American Horror Story on FX - - Part 3

Both seasons are my faves so can't wait . Hope it's not too far in the future.

Does that mean that Lange's character in Season 1 was the Supreme?

'American Horror Story Asylum’s’ [blackout]Lana Winters[/blackout] to Appear on ‘Roanoke’

Now in its sixth season, FX’s “American Horror Story” franchise has started to hint at how the past stories are all interwoven. And characters from previous seasons have popped throughout other installments as well.

Now executive producer Ryan Murphy reveals that Lana Winters — from Season 2’s “Asylum” — will make an appearance on this season’s “Roanoke.”

He tweeted: “Sarah Paulson’s ‘Asylum’ ultimate survivor Lana Winters returns this season on ‘AHS: Roanoke.’ Happy Halloween.”

Curious to see how this plays out.

Audrey had so many great lines this episode. Going on about how many great performances she still had left and then seeing [BLACKOUT]Dominic's body[/BLACKOUT] and saying how great of a scene partner he was :lmao:.

"I played her for 6 months. I know her better than anybody." lol

Sarah Paulson is hysterical this season, so cool they are letting her show her campy/comedy talent this year

Yeah her lines especially last Wednesday's were killing me. There was also one part where she was just primping her hair at the room that made me laugh so hard for some reason. And also the "I paid good money for these teeth!!!".

Audrey saved the season for Sarah Paulson. About two-three episodes into the season, I was just kind of like... why did RM give her nothing but screaming her husband's name ten times an episode?

Audrey is gold though.

I'm really enjoying this season and Paulson is killing it.

As much as I enjoy this season, I wish they wouldn't credit all the regulars in every episode, even if they don't appear. They've been crediting all the actors since episode 1. EVAN PETERS, DENIS O'HARE, CHEYENNE JACKSON... they were all in, like, two episodes each. And Evan didn't even show up until episode FIVE! Jackson didn't even show up on-screen until six.

All while Adina Porter has been in pretty much every episode and is credited with the guest cast.

I gotta say, I was loving this season, but the past two episodes have just felt...meh. All of the story that has been told since the "reboot" could have been told in three episodes. It feels like Murphy just ran out of story to tell, so he did things like introducing new characters late in the game, only for the sake of filling time by killing them off (the kids with the cameras, Wes Bently's character, etc).

The whole Lana Winters special for the finale...I dunno, I just can't see it being any more than a non-stop, self-congratulatory, wink at the camera from Murphy's part. I said way back when this season started, every season is good until it jumps the shark, which happens every season. Sometimes not until the finale, sometimes very early on (Hotel, Freakshow, looking in your direction). The shark has been circling for the past two episodes. I have a feeling it finally gets jumped next week.

FFS, Ryan, I watch this show to escape from the harsh reality. :o

The scene of her [BLACKOUT]being impaled and lit on fire [/BLACKOUT]was basically an allegory of election night.

There's not one likable character this entire season. Once that girl said "let's help them", I couldn't help but roll my eyes. I'll watch next week just to finish the season, but I have not enjoyed this season at all.

"Holy unsatisfying ending Batman"

Man, wtf, that ending completely blew. It's like they just ran out of ideas.

The season started out great, when it got to their "second" season, it went down hill.

Yeah...this was really unsatisfying. It was more or less the same ending as AHS Season 1, which kinda cements this season's status as AHS Season 1: Meta Version.

Plus there were bigger problems. The biggest is that Lee isn't likable enough that her journey had any stakes nor did her sacrifice meant anything to the viewer. There was never a connection with that character. Nor was there really enough of a connection with Flora to make the viewer empathize with her. She was a plot device, not a character.

Plus, as I said last week, it felt like they ran out of story. So much was filler. The Payley Fest girl who served no purpose other than needless exposition about how huge Return to Roanoke was, the Spirit Chaser team getting killed, reintroducing Cricket and basement guy actor, etc. A finale shouldn't have filler. Ever. If you need to put filler in the final chapter of your story, you have messed up on pacing in a big way.

Finally, I don't like how they dropped the format for the last scene between Lee and Flora. It went from documentary to reality show to real crime news specials, back to reality show back to newscasts, and then suddenly just became a traditional show in which the viewer was just watching. It seems like a little thing, but I found it to be jarring. Murphy chose the found footage format knowing its limitations. It is lazy as a writer to just drop that when it becomes inconvenient rather than finding an organic way to get the story across within the limitations of the format.

Yeesh, talk about an underwhelming ending . I kept waiting for a twist to shake things up but nada. Overall, much tighter storytelling than some of the previous seasons but apparently Ryan Murphy just can't deliver a satisfying ending.
