American Horror Story on FX - Part II

This show just keeps getting better. I am loving all of the plots, nothing is unravelling. This season might even be better than the first. :)

I'm most interested in the storyline with [BLACKOUT]Cordelia's husband... witch hunter?[/BLACKOUT]

Good episode. Wish that small part of the council had more to do and I hope that Emma doesn't get to sit around the rest of the season playing dead dress up for the butler. I would think she would come back due to the spell that was cast.

I feel like Kathy Bates is being wasted. They made her so evil in the first episode and it had amazing, exciting potential to see that character. And now she's just...a maid. I get the juxtaposition but it's a waste of her amazing talents, IMO.

We're not even halfway through. I have no doubt there will be a lot more for Kathy Bates to do as the season treads along. Right now she seems calm, humble, and a contrast to her former self. But seasons of AHS are always full of reversals. Who knows what will happen as time goes on?

Great episode tonight. So much awesome stuff going on! Everything seems to be well-planned. Each story thread is interesting in its own right and the cast continues to excel. Loved the Spalding reveal, as well.

What I love about AHS is that, while the show clearly draws from familiar horror and is heavily influenced by other works (we could make a whole thread on AHS influences alone), it's all strung together and presented to us in a way that still feels completely fresh...as well as unpredictable (to a certain extent). There's really nothing else like it on television right now.

I am really hoping that FX goes with the spin off that they were thinking about for this season. Even though Murphy would need someone to balance him out to keep the quality up long term.

Eh, I hope that doesn't happen. Seems silly to mess with the flow of what they've got going on with AHS now, season after season. Murphy should deliver a stellar full season of Coven and then leave it at that.

It wouldn't mess with the flow. It would be a complete new show and wouldn't really have that much connection with Coven just the same general idea.

I love love the witches/voodoo rivalry and their long complicated history. I await the next confrontation between Jessica and Angela.

Wonder what happened to Cordelia's face.

It didn't look like it was acid, so I'm guessing some sort of blindness. That would **** with someone who deals in potions.

Anyone know who's name Spalding wrote down? I missed it.

Really ? I thought that was his name...I guess I missed that. I thought he wrote his own name because he did it himself. I thought that before they showed the actual scene so I guess I tricked myself.

Great episode, I loved the flashbacks. Francis Conroy is playing a fun character this year. I thought her character in season 1 was a little too similar to her character from Six Feet Under.

What's this rumor about a spinoff? As I watched last night's episode, I was thinking "this has enough potential to be a full series by itself" but I kind of want them to keep the flow going like you guys are saying. It just makes AHS something special and they shouldn't mess with that. Does anyone have any "genre" ideas they could use for season 4? Maybe a non-supernatural serial killer? Or would that be too boring? Maybe a monster on the loose. A giant one.

I could be mistaken too, but the first letter on the sheet looked like an "M" to me so I assumed it was her name.

was that red head a witch?

Don't know, just speculation. [blackout]She's rumored to appear in at least one more episode.[/blackout]

I just figured with all the parallels to season 1, she might have a dynamic with one of the witches.

Bloodyface was such a waste from last season. Great idea and call back to the classic slashers, but wound up completely underused and as an afterthought of a season that lacked focus and had way too much going on.

I would love for a season of AHS to fully revolve around a masked serial killer a la Michael Myers. It'd be awesome to see the AHS spin on the slasher genre. They've touched on it and had moments/references to the slasher genre (Bloodyface, rubber suit), but within seasons about other things. I imagine they could do something similar to Scream (but obviously more twisted) in which no one knows the identity of the killer and there would be many suspects.

Sadly, they won't do that. They'll choose something none of us could have predicted.

TVLine.com came up with some pretty good ideas that I hadn't thought of or heard other people suggest:

- Summer Camp
- Circus/Carnival
- Space
- Retirement home (LOL)
- Washington DC/political/supernatural conspiracy

Maybe a ghost town. Mix in some Silent Hill, maybe some parts of Stephen King's It. The Hills Have Eyes.

Well if she was a witch, maybe Delia's husband is at least partly the reason why there are so few witches left. I seriously doubt it was the Voodoo. A treaty was signed when the witches had much larger numbers, and it wasn't broken until Fiona went to the salon.

As for next season, I think a carnival would be perfect. If not, a Phantom of the Opera type setting could be cool

Marie sending Madame LaLaurie's zombie daughters after her was badass.

So Hank's a serial killer?

Spalding hugging the scarecrow is one of those odd little moments in AMH that I like.

Myrtle's "I've got a book of matches in my pocket and I'm just dying to light this fire!" was the best line of the episode for me.

Queenie's description of Madison and what she is doing to the grim ripper made me laugh out loud :)
