American Idol 2019

I am. I know someone who auditioned (a country singer...she's been shown in glimpses, but her audition hasn't been shown yet), so I'm pulling for her.

The ratings were down from last year but still good enough, apparently. We'll see how Wednesday night's show goes.

That's cool that you know somebody on the show! Good luck to her!

I liked Myra Tran, the high school student from Vietnam, but it turns out she's already won X Factor Vietnam so I'm a bit surprised they're allowing her to compete.

Auditions are over...they did not air my buddy's audition...but I'm happy to report that she made it to Hollywood! I guess that means I keep watching for awhile.

There's actually a few good singers on here and a few with marketable styles and looks. We'll see how it goes.

That's cool!! Good luck to her, the Hollywood portion can be quite grueling.

The auditions were interesting but I could have done with less of the judges' antics and more auditions.

Eh...she got the boot on Monday's episode. They again didnt show her performance.

It's just a thing. This is a tv show first and foremost...so the auditions they show are the ones that will tug at heartstrings. And then when deciding who gets to the live shows, its like a casting process more than singing auditions. My buddy is a teenage blonde country singer...and they already have a blonde female teenager country singer who actually has been on national tv before (some show with Shania Twain)...so honestly, there wasn't really room for both on the live shows.

I don't really watch many tv shows...so I may keep watching, just to keep the tv off the news channels.

That's a shame. :( But at least she got as far as she did.

Between Ada getting voted off last season and Jeremiah getting voted off this past episode after 2 stellar performances I feel as if this show is promoting homophobia, because in regards to talent Jeremiah was leagues above everyone else this season. Really unfortunate and I’m surprised there isn’t more outrage at the blatant homophobia and lack of diversity.
