American Media Bias - Siding with Israel

He's one of my favorites as well. It's from a series of VW commercials he did around the concept of "Un-Pimp Ze Auto". They're probably out on Youtube or Google Video if you hunt for them. Funny stuff.

They're both extremists that adhere to their arguments no matter how wrong they may be proven or how detrimental or ridiculous for themselves it becomes.

A big problem with this board, and the Internet in general, is that for some reason personal attacks are seen as arguments.

I will debate things point by point happily, and I might not always be right. But I can't stand personal attacks, and just because a person uses personal attacks does not make that person right. Constantly calling me a fascist and extremist does not make it so. If you look at the things I actually say, nothing is very extreme at all in the things I say.

I've taken a side. Yeah, I admit it. So what? You're taking a safe middle ground. You're one these people that claims both sides are as bad as the other. Your views would be commendable if it were the truth of what's going on.

When the cold hard facts are looked at, it is clear that Israel have commited war crimes against the Palestinians for decades, and illigally occupied their land. In the documentary I posted, you see that in the space of a few years, 500 Israelis were killed in the conflict. 2000 Palestinians were killed in the period of time.

They are not as bad as each other. Suicide bombing is wrong, but when an entire peoples' rights are stomped on constantly, their land stolen, what do you expect them to do?

I'm not choosing a safe middle ground. I am taking the Hiko Seijuro neutral ground. Both sides are nefarious in this futile conflict and choosing one and lending support to one is naive. Both sides are murderers and are committing crimes.

You are far too left wing to be a fascist. An extremist though, the things you have said do tend to support that.

hippie_hunter, you in particular would benifit greatly from watching the documentary.

Many of the favourite arguments of the pro-Israel camp are contradicted in the documentary. "The Palestinians have been given a chance to have their own land and they didn't take it", "all the Palestinians have to do is accept Israel's right to exist and all will be fine", etc etc.

I am trying to get it into kainedaimo's head though that the Palestinians, Hamas, and Hezbollah are nowhere near as innocent as he preaches, that they are terrorists not freedom fighters, and Israel isn't the only evil in the conflict.

and that...quite probably, outside forces are the ones responsible (and no, I don't mean reptilians or the illuminati)

Oh, I'd say your performance in this thread is a fine example of your tendency to espouse rather extremist views and then try to make things personal during a debate rather than just sticking to the facts. It's also a fine example of why it's pointless to debate with you on any topic whatsoever.

God almighty, Jag. Not this again. If you wish to debate that thread any further or bring up issues you have with me about what was said in the thread, bring it up in that thread. Cosmetic surgery has nothing to do with this topic, and I really don't think the views I expressed in that thread were extreme. Really, you're just sore because I mocked you. And the reason I mocked you because you're one of these message board people that has to dramatically announce "I'm leaving the thread, I've had enough!", and then still don't leave. You still had to have the last word, and you started whining like a baby about God knows what (because I didn't read it), thus why I mocked you. Get over it. It happened days ago.

Actually, it illustrates your extremism and inability to keep things from becoming personal. You asked for an example, you got one. Oh, and I never said I was leaving that thread, I just said I wasn't going to debate the topic with you any further because it's pointless. But then again, you didn't read anything that I wrote, did you?

Dude, why do you care about American media bias?

Aren't you from Belfast?

I care because the decisions that America makes affect the entire world. Very simple.

And to Carter, who says he doesn't care about anything going on in Belfast and never has. You don't have to live in a nation to be moved emotionally by the plight of the people. I'm sure at some point or another you felt moved by the oppression of the Jews by the nazis. Similarly, I cried when I read the 9/11 issue of Amazing Spider-Man, and I'm not American.

Do you mean the 9/11 issue of Amazing Spider-Man? When JMS becomes a news reporter, I'll get angry at him for bias.

There you go again, making it personal in lieu of any sort of a logical argument to stand on. Thank you for illustrating my point.

If you stop to think about it logically, we have nothing to talk about, and nothing can come of pathetically posting 5 paragraph long arguments about absolutely nothing. I've said all I have to say to you when I said you're just sore because I mocked you.

Now stop talking.
