Amy Adams is Lois Lane

Wow! I just found out. This is very unexpected. Though I never thought of her as Lois I feel this inspired casting. It also reveals a little about the direction movie. In spite of the action this movie will at its core it will have a heart.

Only looked at the first couple of pages of this thread, but based on what I have seen, I'm pleasantly surprised by the lack of, "Boo! They cast ancient, wrinkly old 36 year old ugly hag Amy Adams for Lois! I wouldn't sleep with her if she begged me, my standards are too high! Stupid WB casting talented actresses for the part when all we need is a bimbo supermodel that can't act but who looks exactly like this cheesecake pic of Lois I found in a 90s comic. Etc, etc." The majority seem to be positive about the casting.

Amy Adams is a great actress, and is an exciting choice for Lois Lane. She's going to be a real asset to the ensemble.

Wow. This news came out of left field. The SPOT ON casting continues for this film. Excitement is too small of a word.

Indeed, the timings of the castings is also throwing me off I've been shocked at almost all the pieces of casting so far except Costner cause we kinda already knew about him but I was initially shocked when I heard he was up for Pa Kent. I can totally see Amy as Lois Lane, I'll admit I never considered her simply because she's a redhead (god I have such a thinbg for redheads )

Hahahaha This is awesome! My Girlfriend and I just finished watching The Fighter and she was amazing in it. Not my choice but very happy with it. Why? Maybe this has already been asked...but...isn't Amy Adams a bit too sweet for Lois Lane? I know she got more "serious" in The Fighter but that performance doesn't convice me that she can do Lois. She's a great actress nonetheless, but I don't know, it's gonna be tough to see her as anything else than Princess Giselle from Enchanted.

I'm sure they screentested her(hopefully) with Cavill and she came across as the Lois they wanted. Or her acting was good enough that they hope she will have chemistry with Cavill. Let's hope it's the former.

It's a strength, imo. If she has the natural charming vibe of someone you can admire, it's far easier to see why she's so likable if she's as brash, outspoken, and aggressive as Lois is supposed to be.

It's an important anchor as not everyone has the ability to display good qualities in what is considered bad on paper. Amy's got the chops to do a 180, make no mistake. I'd be surprised if it's nothing short of great.

This is a huge upgrade from Bosworth who looked like a teenager and came off kinda flat.

but it's funny that some people said Rashida Jones was too old (34) and they went with someone even older (37).
