Market research firm Nielsen ran a poll between June 7-14, and asked a bunch of gamers which of the year's big Christmas or 2010 releases they'd either "definitely" or "probably" be picking up. You can see the results of that study below.

So, no Uncharted, no Splinter Cell: Conviction, no Mass Effect 2, no Bioshock 2, and most importantly....no Modern Warfare 2 :wow::wow::wow:

And once again, everyone wants Halo, with or without Master Chief

Halo is no surprise, it sad but not surprising, but I'm really saddened at WiiSports Resort so far on the list.

I don't see how Splinter Cell or Modern Warfare is behind either Need for Speed games or Madden.

I don't have much faith in that.

Yeah, I question what type of 'gamers' were questioned on this list. I'm assuming that a lot of the percentage was of the casual side of things.

No Modern Warfare on that list definately seems fishy.

I'm with you guys. Halo i understand, that series has been stellar since its inception and its just synonymous with gaming now, but the rest of the list, i dont buy, at all. Like you guys said, no MW2 really seems odd. I just dont buy that list, at all.

Actually, after thinking about it, here's something to consider...I wonder if the lack of "Call of Duty" in the title is throwing people off? Hmm...

Surely not, I really hope these 'gamers' aren't that stupid

Except for FF13, none of those games are even on my radar.

Not at all. People know it's another Call of Duty game.

What is wrong with Halo? It's a game thats been out for awhile and is still one of the most played games on Xbox Live. I also think it has the best multiplayer system than any other game you can find. Really just because the game has been out for awhile and it has more spotlight than all the other games does not make it a bad guy.

I never said Halo was bad or that it was the bad guy, but I'm going to be honest, I don't think it's all that great. From the get go I've never found the franchise to be this incredible, Godly video gaming experience that everyone else seems to think it is. At best it's pretty good, at worse I think it's pretty mediocre. It'll always be something that fully eludes me as to why it's where it's at

To be frank, I don't think there's damn near any gaming franchise that deserves the amount of hype and sells that Halo has generated.

Halo is the reason games like Call of Duty are now popular with consoles. It basically showed that you can create a really solid controlling FPS on a console. It ushered in the era of the FPS. I don't like Halo, but it should be quite easy, for anyone, to see why its as popular as it is.

Got bored with Halo 3 a month after release, not to mention the influx of more engaging MP out there.

Not that it's bad business, but they love milking this Halo franchise. blech.

I know this, but I still don't believe that's a good enough reason to basically be the greatest selling gaming franchise of all time, as I believe it currently is, and to automatically be given near perfect scores on a universal level with every installment. I'm not discrediting Halo for its accomplishments and, as I said I do believe it's good, but it is hard for me to see where it's continuously praised, lavished and eaten up like chicken feed by this overwhelming majority. If you and others really think this is deserved, that's fine, but I will remain in my skeptical position
