Ang Lee's "Hulk" Appreciation Thread

hmmmmmmmm..... I don't know if I'd say masterpiece, but it was a bold new direction for the Hulk and an interesting interpretation.

I think Superhero films were still finding their feet in those days, and this was an interesting attempt.

Plus, Nick Nolte was a-mazing as the mad scientist father - and a reasonable adaptation of the Absorbing Man, who's been a very underrated Hulk/Thor villain.

Yeah, the Hulk-dogs weren't great, but overall this was a fun movie, quite dark but I think people don't give it its due, because it wasn't just a pop-corn film, but tried to get behind some of the Hulk's motivations.

All in all, I've always enjoyed it.

I watched it a ton of times when it first hit DVD & eventually got very bored with it. I enjoyed it for what it was but a better Hulk design & whether the main villain had been Bruce's father or not if they had better developed his super strength & powers it would have made the movie much better.

While I think the movie was a failure as a CBM, it definitely had an artistic side to it. It had a few redeeming qualities that were done VERY well. Ultimately, agreeing with what is said above, I feel the movie would've been better if a proper villain was chosen and the design of the Hulk was a little better. And lose the multi-screen shots. They were distracting and took away from the artistic feel Ang Lee was going for.

All-in-all, it was definitely an A+ effort and I can appreciate that.
