Cool news on Bloom but is this Bunchen stuff for real ?:csad:

any news on this? im reading summer 2008...but i have heard nothing....

To be quite frank, I get the impression that the majority of the people who cite Dan Brown as a good writer and the Da Vinci Code as a good book are people who don't read much at all(IE much of the public).

If they did, then they wouldn't think it was such a good book by such a good writer... because it's not.
/shrug its a good read. I dont think he's a great writer, but an okay writer.
A&D > Devinci Code imo...Ya,tom hanks will return for A&D movie which will I believe pay him a huge freakin sum of money...Devinci code was a decent movie, for me I liked the soundtrack, and the cgi for the dub overs for explaining history facts etc....

It seems like Sony is literally *issing themselves to get this movie made. Wikipedia says Hanks will "earn the highest salary ever paid for a actor in any movie"

Yeah, so I've heard.

But Hanks as Langdon was always terrible casting. :(

yea it was but the A&D story is MUCH better than DVC...it should be fun to watch

It certainly requires Langdon to be a much more physical protagonist - he actually has a couple of fight scenes. I have to wonder if they'll let that happen with Hanks, and if he can pull them of. They seemed to try to make him as milquetoasty as possible in DVC.

I have a feeling the release of the movie will be simultaneous to the release of The Solomon Key (The next Robert Langdon book due out next year)... thats just me though...

Jason Statham for Robert Langdon!

You're probably joking... BUT... lose the British accent and sure, he'd still be a bit young for it, but I could honestly see it. Although he's probably a little too muscular; Angels & Demons describes Langdon as merely toned and fit.

I was joking, but then again, Statham is the man

But you know who I would have loved for Langdon?
Russell Crowe.

Russell Crowe.

That would be perfect. He has the build and the look for it. He fits the description of someone toned and ruggedly handsome, and you could maybe age him up to give him the "older gentleman" quality. Much moreso than goofy/quaky Hanks.

well, Langdon...is goofy. and quirky, but also a badass at times.

i had no problem with tom hanks, it was the choppy story in DVC that got me. oh yeah, expect a teaser in November.

I would have wanted Russell Crowe sans Australian accent for Langdon. He could have had long hair without looking completely hideous.

i dont get the whole long hair thing in DVC movie, in the book Langdon doesnt have long hair like that.
