How would you feel if someone cut your cat's or dog's skin off and made a pair of gloves?

Since I own them, no one would because I don't give them permission. Besides, dogs and cats aren't raised to be turned into gloves so that makes no sense to me.

I wear leather because I don't know the cow who died for it.

If PETA was actually about "ethical" treatment of animals, they wouldn't unconditionally boycott all animal products forever. They would crusade for ethical treatment, not try to end all commercial activity involving animals. What if, suddenly, laws were passed mandating humane treatment for all animals (which I would wholeheartedly support), would the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals stop their wild attacks? No, because they're just a political organization like any other now. They've sold their souls to the system like everyone else, and you're foolish if you don't recognize that.

Don't get me wrong. I buy local meat. I don't buy fur clothing because I don't know of any companies that don't use those inhumane practices. I try not to support unethical treatment of animals. But you have to understand, and this is not just an anthropocentric copout, that death is part of nature. Eating and utilizing animals is part of nature. Why don't you travel back in time and tell the Native Americans about their lack of ethics? Or some cavemen? I'd just love to hear their responses.
