My wife and I've already voted via mail here in the semi-great state of California. I shall share my voting choices with you all.

President - McCain/Palin - Republican

I would of voted Libertarian but really Bob Barr is no Libertarian. Just another politician changing his stripes for spots to get on the ballot ala Ralph Nadar.
Neither McCain or Obama offer real change just another 4 years of screwing us all.

US Rep. 29th District - Alan Pyeatt - Libertarian

State Senator 21st Dist. - Steve Myers - Libertarian
State Assembly 44th Dist. - Thomas Logan - Libertarian

State Measures - In California, basically voting yes on any measure increases state spending ie: increases state tax. The two biggest measures seem to be 2 and 8, which I'll list seperately.

Measures 1,3,4,5,6,7,9,10,11,12,R,TT i voted no on.

Measure 2 - i voted yes on. The measure is basically makes certain farm animals to be allowed for the majority of the animals day to be allowed to be able to walk and spread its legs or wings. Sort of an Animal Rights measure. Now i pretty much dispise PETA, but I'm not a cruel person and think all animals have a right to walk around and do their thing before becoming my breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Measure 8 - I voted no on. This is our biggest measure. Voting Yes would eliminate same sex marriage and voting NO would allow its continuance. Basically, i find marriage to be a religious topic and up to the churches on who can be married or not and not a governmental issue. But since we have to go and pay for a marriage license its a revenue source for our local governments. Personally, i don't care if 2 men or 2 women get married and if they can find a church/religion or a Justice of the Peace that will marry them, good for them.

We had 5 Judicial spots up for grabs and i voted for Hilleri Grossman Merritt who is a Criminal Trial Prosecutor, Thomas Rubinson and Michael O'Gara who are both Criminal Prosecutors & Pat Connolly & Michael Jesic who are both Crimnial Gang Proscutors.

So, how are you voting?

I voted via absentee ballot, because I'm too preoccupied with my elitist doings here in fake America to vote in my home state.

As for who I voted for:

President: Obama-Biden (D)
Congress: Alice Kryzan (D)
State Senate: George Maziarz (R)
State Assembly: wrote in Hugh Laurie because the incumbent is a jerk and was unopposed

I did not vote for the rest of the positions, because the candidates were either a) unopposed, or b) running for positions I could care less about (county coroner, county sheriff, etc.).

I also voted for Proposition 1.

I need to look through my election handbook to look over the propositions and do a little research on my local congressman, but so far I've decided for certain on these:

President: Obama

California amendments:

Yes on Prop 2 (Prohibits the confinement of certain farm animals in a manner that does not allow them to move freely)

No on Prop 4 (requires parental notification for those under 18 that want to get an abortion)

Yes on Prop 5 (lessens criminal consequences for drug offenses)

No on Prop 8 (amendment to ban gay marriages)

State Measures - In California, basically voting yes on any measure increases state spending ie: increases state tax. The two biggest measures seem to be 2 and 8, which I'll list seperately.

Um, Prop 5 would actually save the state of California money from my understanding, or at the very least would break even.

Not sure that I am. Only thing I know for sure is that I won't be voting for Obama.

Well, you live in California so you could probably vote for Mickey Mouse for President and it wouldn't make much of a difference. Nonetheless, you should still vote.

Actually now that I'm thinking about it; Do any of you live in states that have slot machines, and do you perceive a benefit to the state?

This proposition will be on the ballot in my state on the 4th and I haven't made a decision yet.

A benefit to the state, yes. A benefit to the people who will become addicted to gambling in these tough times, no.

I agree with that. It seems to me like it would take a toll on already struggling people in this economy. The argument for slot machines is that hundreds of millions are being lost by people going out of state to gamble. Fine, but I don't really believe the leftovers from what the slot machine companies take will result in lower taxes for citizens when it's all said and done.

I'm still sitting on my absentee balot. I have it filled out and errthin'. Had it for weeks.

Funny fact: I work for the Office of Elections. I still haven't turned my ballot in!

Meh, We're having some pretty serious elections this time around here in NC. Everything from Governor to Soil And Water Conservation District Supervisor is up for grabs. Sad part is, no one else I've talked to has no idea who anyone else on the ballot is besides McCain or Obama.

I voted early on Monday for:

President/VP: Obama/Biden
Senator: Durbin
Congress: Abboud

And I voted 'yes' on whether a Constituional Convention should be held to revise the Illinois Constitution.

I'm voting Tuesday at this place just down the street. I've never voted before but I live in a pretty small town so I imagine I'll just write "Obama" on a piece of paper and slip it in a shoebox.

Just a public service announcement for anyone who is considering not voting:

The electoral college, the two party system, and campaign finance sucks and I don't support Obama or Palin so I doubt I vote unless Obama can change my mind in 4 days.

Anyone living in CA should vote against Proposition Hate.

You know, because your favorite poster wants you to. :yay:

Voting McCain.

Sadly, I think I will be sinning against my own conscience and voting a straight GOP line. Not because I really like some of the guys or what they have accomplished, but b/c I would rather not have a Dem super majority in congress. Any opposition is better than no opposition.

On issues, pretty much no on any issue asking for more money to schools. Yes on issue 6 to allow Casino's to build inOhio. I won't be going, but I don't feel it is right for the gov to prevent free market business or for people to try to legislate morality (gambling is wrong, so Im going to vote to ban it).

Please vote against Proposition Hate

Hmm, that's the one all the Dems/libs are against isn't it? How could I possibly vote their way? I may be an ex-Republican(now independent) but my hate for the Dems/libs still runs deep.
