"With so many wonderful alternatives to wool, fur, and leather, there's simply no need to use animal skins to cover your own skin. For every wool sweater, leather belt or jacket, or bit of fur trim, animals are tortured and mutilated in ways that would make any compassionate person's skin crawl. Sheep, cows, foxes, rabbits, minks, and other animals used for their fleece, fur, or skins feel pain and suffer just like the dogs and cats in our own homes, yet chunks of their flesh are hacked off, they are electrocuted, their necks are snapped, and their throats are slit open, often without any painkillers. Join kind people everywhere and shed your skins-wear only compassionate, animal-free clothing." - PETA

Wearing animal fur is disgusting. :( Here's some more gross information: http://www.furisdead.com/animals.html

I didn't want to post any pictures because they're nauseating.

:)
Man, those cavemen that wore animal skins during the ice age to survive were so evil!

So that they will wander out into the roads and get hit by cars and trucks and itenerant skateboarders? :(

Or get devoured by predators that will take advantage of their domestication and lack of in-the-wild survival instincts?

It's like when Sean Hannity's air-headed assistant got pissed that he gave her a live lobster to eat for Christmas so she set it "free" in a fesh water pool in the park, where it died a horrible death. lol "free" of this plane of existence.

I used to work with a hardcore PETA-psycho who was always going on about letting animals be free. We'd ask her, okay, you set all the animals in shelters, farms and zoo's free. Then what? They most likely aren't equipped to survive in the wild because they've been in captivity since birth or for an extended period of time, which makes them succeptible to predators, diseases and other things that aren't an issue for animals that haven't been held in captivity. They'll most likely die needlessly without human care and protection, regardless of whether they're intended for human consumption or not. She never, EVER had a good answer for that one.

Holly Goodhead obviously hasnt ate enough protein to keep her brain functioning correctly

whats ur problem with wool.......Sheep don't suffer that much when they get sheared, in fact, in Australia, during the summer, it would hbe cruel to leave them with their woolen coats with the hot sun n all.

I'm all for natural fibres, but the majority of non animal clothing products are sinthetic, and often are made in environmentally unfriendly matters.
i'm all for humanitarian treatment of animals, but i don't think we need to stop using wool!

I don't, I just think it's sick that we kill things for pleasure.
You kill something everyday, most of the time without realizing it.

And is it ok if I wear my animals if they're still alive?

'Heirheads' Paris Hilton and Kimberly Stewart Top PETA's Annual 'Worst-Dressed' List
A tacky affinity for fur has landed the following celebrities on PETA's Annual 'Worst-Dressed' List for 2005:

1. Paris Hilton: Now we know what happens to all of Paris Hilton's cast-off pets. And if she keeps on wearing fur and eating at Carl's Jr., she'll be back on the list next year as Star Jones.

2. Kimberly Stewart: What does Kimberly Stewart have in common with the remains of the animals killed for her furs? They're both spoiled rotten. She and best bud Paris are so clueless about animals, they should team up for a new reality show: The Simpletons.

3. Lisa Gastineau: Her "TV career" is just like the fur she wears—dead on arrival. And how can she expect to nab a hot young hunk if she insists on flaunting that old beaver?

4. Victoria Gotti: Gotti's fur coats make her an accessory to murder, and it's a look that goes well with cement shoes. Considering the way she dresses, her show should be called Growing Up Gaudy.

5. Tara Reid: It must have been a heck of a party—she woke up wearing Lindsay Lohan's dog! Not only can she not act, she can't dress herself, either.

I'm against animal cruelty......but I'll be damned if I complain about some woman wearing elephant skinned jeans.

I love my leather jacket and belt..... no way I'm giving either up.

Animal cruelty is bad... but humans have been wearing animals since we developed the tools to kill and skin them :o

I'm against hunting for sport, testing make up on animals, any animal testing... even scientific.

But at the same time I can't worry about someone wearing fox.. I wear leather jackets so if I did say something I'd be a hypocrite.

You just won't ever catch me with a fur coat. :o

what makes wearing leather more justifiable than wearing fur? its both animal skin, just different textures.

I've seen them shave wool off the sheep.. it's actually really funny... all the poor sheep do is wail while the clippers strip off their fur.

what's crazy is how they manage to take off the whole coat in a single cut.

Wrong. America is obsessed w/ cute lovable furry creatures. Aligators and Snakes aren't seen as worthy of consideration, though I don't know why. Henceforth, purses, shoes, car interiors, and briefcases made out of the finest nature has to offer.:o
