Annihilation

The cosmos. Remember in the minis leading up to Annihilation Annihilus was gathering up Heralds? Put 2 and 2 together.

Ah, so you think Annihilus found a way to siphon off the pwer cosmic and turn it into his own brand?

Makes sense.

He's also got the quantum bands now. He shouldn't be able to use them, but apparently he can.

It seems likely. I keep hoping Wendell downloaded his mind into the quantum bands like Kyle did with his ring in The Obsidian Age. Then he'll pop out as a construct version of himself during Nova's fight with Annihilus, reclaim the bands, and he and Nova will double-team Annihilus and kick his ass. Ah, pipe dreams...

That's exactly what I'm thinking.

Though, I'm much more excited to see Galactus going on the offensive. I want some cosmic level mayhem.

Actually, that's the energy that powers his universe, like the Power Cosmic powers the 616. It's just THEIR version of the Power Cosmic.

Actually I know thats what he did.

I'll look for such confirmation tonight as it's something that's been buggin me for a while.

Yeah, but since when has be been the badass of the Neg Zone? Him commanding people who weild The essence would lead me to believe that he has more than them; or knows a juicy secret about them.

Yeah, that pisses me off too. Annihilus' personality would make the quantum bands explode.

Annihilation: Silver Surfer, is where you'll find the greatest mention of this.

Where he GOT this energy? Who knows? But he doesn't really dole it out from himself. He has little dogs that channel it into others, with him at the switch for on and off really is how it seems to me.

What's he gonna do to Aegis AND Tenebrous though. He better bring his A+++ game :(

He seemed to be doing just fine against Tenebrious, and Aegis seems to be the weaker. Maybe he'll have a meal, ambush the hell out of them, get ALL of his heralds up and running after one of them, and just DECIMATE them.

Then who's gonna help fight Annihilus and the Centurions?

I like how you say "have a meal" so casually liek it doesn't result in a planet being eaten :p

Planet thing: Big picture idea. I put it into perspective for Galactus.

And really, for Annihilus? Who cares? Nova should have power comparable. Plus, chances are that the Centurions are more or less small fries, and will be disregarded as Nova just charges through them.

Ive seen the covers for the Annihilation series, they are very good. One of my favorites is the one with Gammora and Ronan, but are the comics themselfs like the covers, art wise?

If Galactus dies, someone else comes along probably worse than the big G. But what happens if those 2 fake Galactus like beings are killed? Will we see something of the same caliber but worse come along?

I keep hearing how good this event is, and I wondering if I haven't read the mini's leading up to Annihilation and started reading at Annihilation #1 would I be able to follow it?

I know next to nothing about the cosmic aspect of Marvel and didn't read any of the lead ins. I'm right into it and understand the motivations of the players and the scope and ins and outs of what's happening.

Go for it, it kicks ass

The interiors are done by Andrea DiVito. They're not painted like the covers, but DiVito's still a great artist, especially for this kind of story.

I doubt it. Galactus plays an important role in the universe. Tenebrous and Aegis were locked in the Kiln for centuries and the universe went along just fine without them.

Get everything I say!

Annihilation's been selling pretty well, from what I understand, so I'm guessing there'll be trades of the lead-in minis soon. My suggestion would be to grab the main mini-series now, since I don't think just 3 back-issues would be too tough to find, and wait for the trades on the lead-ins. Any questions in the meantime, just ask here.

Actually, someone must take Galactus' place in the universe if he dies, and would probably be preoccupied trying to find food. Or else the universe ends. And it seemed like those were pretty much the end of the Galactus like beings in existance, seeing how if there were more, he probably would've left them in the Crunch, and they would be free now.

Though, if they DO kill Galactus, there's a chance one of them might simply take his place.

That was hardly the case when he and Quasar confronted Annihilus. :(

Its a bit of a paradox .... If he can wield the N-Zones version of the P.C. why has been bullying Thanos into doing his home work for him, on the P.C. ? On the other hand if he doesn't wield it (Which i suspect he doesn't), how does he control Ravenous and co ? Maybe his powers have had a Ret conned update, to allow the story to occur. According to Wiki, his 'Cosmic Rod' (Sounds like a Star Trek *****),can only generate the power of a 10 megaton nuclear bomb, which would be like a fire cracker to a Herald level being. Mind you the same source, suggest he beat Thor and Odin once ?

My understanding of the cosmic control rod was that it was able to manipulate infinite ammounts of energy.
I just assumed that after discovering "the essence" or whatever it's called he was able to tap into it through the Rod and could use it ever since. I also assumed that he used it to give Ravenous and his cronies the essence in the first place which is why they're loyal to him.

I'm not sure how much my ideas are backed up by the comics i just made those conclusions anyway.
