i think Pfeiffer has after the cuts and reshoots only a small role left , idk the Infinity War thing with Hawkeye let me rethink such things like twists like that , because we can expecting thinks we dont expect from Marvel Studios from now on

You know wasn't the greatest trailer...but feels like the right change of pace after infinity war, I'm excited for the film

My reaction to the trailer:

That was a pretty awesome trailer! Lots of beautiful shots!

I don't think Janet is a villain, she will probably act a bit odd but not a villain.

We just had an evil parent in GOTG2.
If you want to go in depth, Spider-Man HC had an evil parent.
Ragnarok Thor finds out his dad did some bad.
BP he disagrees with his dad belief.

Marvel loves mothers though they constantly have them killed. I don't think they make a mom bad.

why do you think she has a small role? Isn't her appearance 1 of the selling points for the film?

I love Michael Pena and his role in this.

But does anyone feel like his character was shoehorned in? Was he in 1 of the drafts that Edgar Wright wrote years ago?

Wait they had a flashback scene with Pym suited up? Why would they cut that? :(

Remember in the beginning of the first film when Darren Cross was doing his presentation for those investors/shareholders and he played some old security footage of ant-man taking out some soldiers? That old security footage is what's left of a whole flashback scene of antman infiltrating and eliminating a military base. Reed cut the scene and turned a few seconds of it into security footage for Darren's presentation scene.

why do they always have to show every character whose in the film on the actual poster?

I get that actors want us to see their faces (or their agents demand it) but come on. It should be the hero and the villain, IMO.

You just answered your own question

No. The first film wasnt about Janet. Nor did it need to be. It was Scott's origin story. Clearly they were saving Janet and the quantum realm for the sequel. Janet's story is more relevant in the sequel which will deal with Hope becoming Wasp. So again I ask, how did they disrespect her within the context of the first film and the story they were telling? They didnt have janet dress in a silly costume and do the chicken dance or do something morally at odds with her established moral character. They didnt do anything to damage the character. A fan being upset about having to wait for a sequel isnt the same thing as Marvel disrespecting the character.

meh it works for a lot of the Marvel movies.

I have never heard of Ghost. That is probably the villain and one of the least known villains in all of Marvel. Most of Ant-Man villains are unknown unless you really love the characters. A poster of Ant-Man, Wasp, and Ghost isn't catching many eyes.

Also the first poster I saw in a theater was just the title and AM&W were shrunken so you barely see them.

Well that and her sidelining was used to make Hank feel sad and as an excuse for why Hope (the other Wasp) couldn't actually be Wasp.

So yeah a double-whammy there. Although perhaps that's partially Edgar Wright's fault, but there's no excuse this time around.

Why is janet being part of the reason Hank doesnt want to risk his daughter's life disrespectful to Janet? Janet is Hope's mother. Seems like a perfectly acceptable reason for Hank to not want to risk his daughter when his daughter is all he has left and the one thing left of Janet.

And let's be real, no father is just going to hand their daughter a costume and say go fight psychotic super villains. Any loving protective father would try to sideline their daughter from being the Wasp. And did Hope really need to be active as Wasp in the very first Ant-Man film that is primarily focused on Scott's origin story?

That's Hank, not Scott. Notice the old costume.

@Inhuman117 There is a scene in A4 with Hank, Janet and Bucky.

I doubt Hank and Janet are villains.

If the rumor about A4 being set 5 years later turns out to be true, and time works differently in the QR, could we see Scott returning to an older version of his daughter? (this time played by the actress that was recently cast as Cassie)

This is very possible

Because you sidelining one female hero, to make her husband feel sad and deny his daughter something that she is perfectly qualified for. Again they're sidelined to further the male character's stories.

It was all about Hank and that's the problem. Also when the movie itself is telling me that Hope is far more qualified in ever way, the idea that "well it's Scott's origin story" becomes far less convincing.

You want to make it more believable, write it better because Scott felt superfluous in his own alleged origin story.

Also the idea that Hope couldn't be Wasp because "daddy said so" is lame in-general.

Wow seriously? That’s a huge shame. I wonder if it was originally meant to open the film.

I don't think Janet will end up as the villain because there were some shots of Douglas and Pfeiffer filming on a beach, looking happy and cozy with one another. Unless those were some type of dream or hallucinations, they're not making Janet turn bad. With how little we know of Fishburne's Foster, he's got a better chance at being a villain, likely in cahoots with Ghost.

I really hope they leave any Infinity War crap out of this. I wanna see a sequel to the first movie, with its OWN beginning and end. Leave the other stuff to other movies. Great trailer!
