The trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp was at my screening, and it was pretty awesome viewing it on the big screen!

Showed it at my E-max viewing of BP. Very small croud but the trailer was spot on excellent. If it weren't for A3 this would be my most anticipated movie for the remainder of the year.

Ah, shame it wasn't at mine. I wanted to see it again on the big screen.

I’ve seen BP twice and the trailer gets people talking and laughing which is a much different reaction than what the first movies trailers got which was silence and even a “I don’t know about that” here and there. I think CW helped a lot.

:lmao:

Yes Ant Man 2 if anything from the looks of it has much more of an action-movie type feel to it especially from the trailer but I bet it still has the comedic aspect

I'm thinking the same.

With Ant Man 2 I can see the events of Infinity War tying into this film if anything for the simple reason that everything builds up to Infinity War so I can see Scott and Hope being dragged into it especially if Thanos shows up wherever they are

I think they're smart in putting Ant-Man and the Wasp as a light-hearted counterpart after the intensity of Infinity War. It worked last time with Age of Ultron and Ant-Man. Contrast between each release works very well, you need to change tones and settings between films to keep everything fresh.

I am going to enjoy that this is small scale not all high risk. The story will be important but we don't need every movie being a big high stakes spectacle.

Well AOU wasn't really intense but that was another story. BP and IW are more serious movies and Ant-man 2 can become a nice palette cleanser.

Don't forget that we have Avengers 4 next year which will probably have major character deaths which can be pretty heavy.

But we also have Captain Marvel and Spider-Man's sequel coming that same year. We have our palette cleansers, LOL

We don't know what tone Cap Marvel will have. Fleck and Boden's whole filmography is quite heavy, i have watched most of their films. Spidey comes after Avengers 4 so it doesn't count because i was talking about the movies in between. When you have movies like BP, IW and Avengers 4 which will be pretty serious and intense having a palette cleanser like Ant-man 2 in between is a good idea.

I wonder if Bill Foster will have worked on Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. like he did in the comics. Foster could of been among the many scientist studying the Tesseract for years before Loki came along and took it.

This is coming from the writer:

Captain Marvel has a very funny voice, and it’s more of an action comedy, more like what we were talking about doing in the first draft I wrote for Tomb Raider…. [but] that tone survived in Captain Marvel.

So, it will be light-hearted comedy.

I mean perhaps Foster and Selvig know each other

Yeah, I'm assuming Captain Marvel will fall somewhere between Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy as far as the humor level goes.

Joshua Mikel (Jared from The Walking Dead) and Michael Cerveris (Professor Pyg on Gotham/Ramses IV from The Tick) have roles in this movie.

I can see this sequel being just as funny as the first film but with it being much more action packed obviously it makes sense because of just who the villain is

You mentioned that you guys read a bunch of the scripts for the other Marvel movies. Is there one before Infinity War that has the biggest lead-in that we can be expecting?

Joe Russo: They all lead in in their own way, I think. As far as plot elements that actually drive towards the story, again, I think Marvel does a great job of segmenting the movies so that you can have your own experience in each film. I think from a plot standpoint, if there’s any corollary, Ant Man 2 probably has some elements that stitch in.

Anthony Russo: But we can’t talk about that.

Hmm. Makes me wonder what parts of Ant-Man and the Wasp carry over into TA4.

In the comics, Ant-Man was B or C list right? Has there been considerable more coverage of his comics since the film?

There have been multiple Ant-Man in the comics.

The original Hank Pym Ant-Man was C List. Could never carry a solo title but has had regular appearances in Avengers books. He even lead a couple Avengers spin off books.

Scott Lang was D list. Lang was occasionally a supporting character in Iron Man books back in the eighties. Lang appeared in various team books like Fantastic Four and Heroes For Hire in the nineties. Lang was a love interest in Jessica Jones and joined the Avengers for a year before killed off for about a decade. When he came back to life he was part of a Fantastic Four spin off book, he had a solo title that ran for a couple years when the first Ant-Man movie came out. Lang has popped up in a couple Marvel event books and is currently a member of Guardians Of The Galaxy. I would say Lang is probably B/C list now.

There is a new Ant-Man and Wasp mini coming out to coincide with the movie starring Lang and Hank Pym's daughter Nadia aka Wasp 2.
