Just wondering if there has been any movement forward on another TMNT movie. The CGI worked well I thought, and the story was an impovment from SotO and the time travel. Plus I liked how it hinted that Shredder was still around.

im sure there will be a sequel but i havent heard any news yet

The TMNT forum was closed based on rumors that there wouldn't be a sequel. You might PM a mod and ask them what they know. However, Playmates recently released a Shredder action figure as part of the TMNT movie toys line up. Shredder was AWOL from TMNT, but if Playmates made the toy anyway, perhaps that is because he is planned for a future TMNT movie.

I loved TMNT. I just hope they make a sequel.

Last thing I've heard on any news regarding a sequel, was that both the owner and CEO of Imagi (the TMNT movie animation studio) will be paying a visit from Hong Kong shortly ...

Well the writer director of the CGI TMNT wants to do the second, but he's busy working on another movie. So im sure when he's done then he'll move on to tmnt 2.

I'm curious why TMNT's forum closed yet the Ghost Rider one is still open. Has their been any movement on a Ghost Rider sequel?

See that's what bugged me. They are working on the series still, new one starts fall 08 while the lost season will air in January, that picks up where fast forward ended. The movie did well both at the box office and dvd plus they are still making TMNT toys of characters not in the movie. But the foram closed?

Well I can kinda understand now. If this one thread can't even stay active why have a whole forum.

Does anyone know of a forum that is still active to discuss TMNT?

Last news I heard is that everyone involved is excited to work on a second movie, but it was never made clear if there actually is going to be a second made or not. Just that it seems all the cast and crew hopes there is.

It's still undecided whether or not a sequel will be made. TMNT, though successful, was not a huge hit and made less money than either Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) or The Secret of the Ooze (1991).

I just watched it...havent before and i'm more then pleased with what i got..

As a long long time TMNT fan i enjoyed it a lot....praying for a sequel.

I still cant figure why in this age when every CGI movie makes a fortune TMNT almost floped...it kicks the ass of all the Shreks and Meet The Robinsons from a mile away.

I hear that there in talks right now, hopefully they'll agree on something and well get news real soon.

That is awsome news if true.

Started picking up the TMNT figures and I'm only missing 5 now. Opened three to send away for the bigfoot figure.

Everyone is kidding right? TMNT was god awful and made me lose complete hope and interest in the Ninja Turtles all together.

Of course, I shouldn't have went in expecting too much like I did but I was completely let down. I guess I'm too much of a fan of the original Ninja Turtles these days (where Shredder committed suicide in the first comics) to even let the kid friendly aspect rub off me. I'd go as far as to say that the original 1990 was darker than this piece of garbage.

I really hope they don't decide to make TMNT 2 because it will really kill the Ninja Turtles off for me. Horrible animation, weak fighting sequences and a plot that seemed like it was written by an eight year old was enough for one movie...

See I thought the movie brought the turtels back to where they should be. It was an awsome movie with heart and it matched tone with 4kids toon. I hope it does get a part 2 or 6 however you look at it.

^Yeah, it was an okay setup of bringing the turtles back, but I think they can come up with a better sequel.

I didn't even think it was in the same ball park as the 2003 series, that had more of a realistic edge to it (well...at times) than the movie even hoped to be.

I'm sorry but the whole Nightwatcher, Max Winters and Monster scenario was just too much for me. I know it was simply a kids movie but I went in hoping for something that could have been kid friendly but had more of a backbone. It was a good thing my tickets to TMNT were free cause I honestly felt bad sitting there watching the movie...

Shredder never commited suicide in Mirage's TMNT, althought that was certainly his intention after his defeat. With all the turtles joining him as well of course! But fortunately the four shellbacks lived to see another day when Don struck Shredder in the jaw with his bo staff, and knocked Saki along with the grenade (that was concealed in his costume) off the rooftop of the building where the battle had taken place. Killing him. But much like most, if not all comic book villains presumed dead, Shredder returned.

It's unfortunate you really did not enjoy the new TMNT flick, but I am fully aware you are not alone in that line of thinking as well. As a good number of hardcore fans, as well as casual fans felt the storyline with Winters and the Monsters left much to be desired. Which is understandable. Personally, I feel that issues such as villains and storyline that many people took notice to with 2007's TMNT (which I quite enjoyed for what it was) will ultimately be corrected if/when the sequel begins taking shape. Munroe has made no secret that he would love to bring something very close to the "City of War" arc to the big screen with a future sequel, and as that is definately one of the more popular storylines within the TMNT comic book realm, I believe that is a great place to start for any said sequel.

Thank you for correcting me Shredder. I got that confused with the part in City at War where Karai told members of the Elite to commit Seppuku but only one of them carries out the act. I think it was Leonardo that told Shredder he must perform the act after his defeat. But yes, thanks for bringing the grenade memory back into my head. :woot:

I dunno, I guess I just felt so strongly to criticize because I felt so strongly about the Ninja Turtles at one point in my life and after hoping for something much darker than Vanilla Ice and time travel all I got was a weak story and something that would have been much more fun if you subtracted ten years off my life.

No problem man, and it's like I said it's understandable why you didnt enjoy the movie because I've spoken to other people as well who like TMNT and have seen most if not all the 2003 animated series, and were let down by their 2007 silver screen comeback. But again, I feel such issues people had with the movie can easily be remedied in a sequel if provided the opportunity. Personally, I find it really unfortunate that Kevin Eastman decided to sell off his share of creative control back in 2000 when the turtle franchise was essentially doing little to nothing. But hindsight is 20/20. As in a recent interview, you can tell Eastman still very much cares what happens with the character's he helped create, but unfortunately is not directly involved with the TMNT franchise these days (outside of royalties and being good friends with Munroe). Out of the two, Eastman was more of the gritty 'Sin City' type of guy I've always felt, where Peter Laird was basically more for the fantastic elements involving aliens and space and what not. Which is cool, but damn do I miss Eastman's perspectives.

^TMNT was a dissapointment they should go back to their beginnings in the comics when the turtles where cold blooded ninjas who killed without hesitation if attacked and fought human opponents in the mafia and the foot not later on when they fought stupid alien beings the TMNT became less gritty realism intercut with cutting egde bloody martial arts and much more sci-fi fantasy for my liking.
