Any TMNT II news?

well the latest news is that there is none. TMNT2 is still in limbo, although the director Kevin Munroe said recently that he is unlikely to be involved...
Imagi and WB have reportedly come to an agreement. Now it's down to a Imagi and Mirage meeting, which is supposed to take place in mid-Dec from what I hear.

TMNT, though successful, was not a huge hit and made less money than either Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) or The Secret of the Ooze (1991).

Yea, but that was expected. Back when the first two movies were made, the Turtles were at the peak of their popularity.

I think it did considerably well given what it was. I mean the majority of adults
considered it little more then a joke. Nobody remembers the original comics they just remembered the early cartoon show. Although we have the new cartoon show it isn't extremely popular with them...I mean it didn't reach the craze of like Pokemon or Yugi-oh, or even the original show. It was also unlike any other recent cgi pixar type movie...so I doubt it brought in much of that crowd of people.

When you think about it had a pretty small target audience. Narrowed down to new fans of the new show and the nostalgic fans of the old movies and comics..oh and those who had nothing else to watch. It had little to compete against when it released. I work at a movie theater and the only kid friendly movies out at the time where The Bridge to Terabithia(which had already bin out for awhile) and Meet the Robinsons (which came out after).

Unlike modern cgi movies this franchise is basically just for guys.

TMNT was very good...but they need to make it PG-13 to get the fans back into it

I don't think making it PG-13 is a good idea. You can actually get away with a lot in a PG film(Star Wars). Lets face it even though we want it there is no market for an adult TMNT movie...there just aren't enough of those kind of fans left and not enough people to take it seriously.

I was actually suprised that TMNT wasn't a cheesy corny mess. Just need more of those Ralph v.s. Leo type of scenes and a better cast of villians.

If made today, the original TMNT would be rated PG-13, and that movie was not exactly "adult" entertainment, and alot of comicbook based movies carrying PG-13 ratings today would hardly be classified as mature and adult.

I say start from the ground up and do a live action origin flick. Guillermo del Toro should direct and I want turtles to look like this.

That is awesome! Think it needs the headband thing though(any manips for this pic?). I would love to see something like that but I think we all know its not going to happen.

Damn, that looks cool for a serious tone TMNT movie. Kinda scary in a way, though. Someone should manip it with a head band.

The pic is friggin awsome. It would be good for a live action movie. Just, you'd have to lose the tail.

Certainly would make for an interesting, as well as entertaining film I'm sure with del Toro at the helm.

the only reason why tmnt remains and should remain pg is because they're teenagers. it was cool for the kids of the 80's cuz the turtles were odler than them, but not those kids are adults, and the turtles are younger than them. it's probably weird for them now.

i think teenagers like it too though. like probably kids 6-18 at most. but 18 is REALLY pushing it.

although if they decide to make it like the picture above, it might as well just be called "Turtles" or something. lol.

Yeah someone seriously needs to do one with the headband, and since those are sais, it has to be Raphael (red head band).

if that was done based off the look and tone of that pic it would be an incredible movie. they definately need the headbands though .

Whoever drew it...lol, so glad they tried to make the turtle punk-ish with that wristband...NOT!!

From murphys blog he said they were going to be finding out real soon on weather they were going ahead.

I just hope that if the new one does get out there that the story is a little bit more like the first one....like no monsters.....

TMNT wanted to freshen things up, without bringing in Shredder, just because they made him become that stupid Super-Shredder in Secret of the Ooze, so I got what they were trying to achieve, but, now, I have no doubt there will be some kind of "monsters" in the following sequel(s) for TMNT.

Let's just say I've seen this on deviantART and Turtle forums like The Technodrome. So yeah, I'm familiar with the artist.

honestly, that's a great pic.

I didn't like the TMNT movie at all but if they went on this route, I would be sold.

I would like it if they went this route, too. But WB is going to keep making TMNT movies aimed for little brats-- I mean Kids. Just imagine with this look and a darker movie. That would be something great.

I thought TMNT was pretty good, I loved the fight between Raphael and Leonardo

Agreed, I think TMNT at least opened the doors to get people interested again but yeah it could of been much better.
