And that's NOT Venom.

Granted that's not Venom, but it may be the movie version of Venom. The movies have been known to take liberties with the comics.... GG's armor, black leather uniforms for the X-Men, organic web shooters... take your pick. Raimi already said he didn't really like Venom. It wouldn't surprise (or disappoint) me he he changed the character a little.

Yeah, but for two of the three you mentioned the changes were made because it would look just plain silly on film. Venom IS bigger than Spider-Man, and changing that is completely tasteless and pointless.

They want the character to be believable. Also, it provides the film with a sense of harmony(visually and storywise), having Venom be a sort of evil version Spidey. Not everything translates well from comics to the film medium. They are very different. Some things have to be changed.

He's not filming the last episode. he's done with that show for good. he even broke up with dana in a letter.

Back on track...remember folks, just because Topher's not drastically taller than Tobey doesn't mean it can't work. Michael Clark Duncan stood on risers for a lot of The Green Mile to look even more monstrous than he is.

I don't see why creative camera work, some off-frame props and a little CGI won't make it a more pronounced difference.

Hell, why don't we just wait until the movie and see how it comes out!

It's possible he'll get to where you want him to be. Just look at Christian Bale in The Machinist, and look at him in Batman. It took him about 2-3 months to go from 120lbs to 220lbs. Admittedly he didn't do it in the healthiest of ways but he still got there incredibly fast.
