Ive always felt Jake gyllenhaal would have made a good spider-man/peter parker.

Is it just me or does Jake Gyllenhaal remind anyone of Tobey Maguire? On the other hand Topher isn't too far off either. I don't mean freakishly (not a word, I think ) but they share a similar look IMO.

Since the news of Topher as Venom, I had to admit i had my doubts.
Ive read posts on this forum showing pictures of the scrawny Topher from that 70's show. Then when I hasnt seen him on news of pictures lately i figured he was probably bulking up somewhere.

This is the link to the very RECENT preimere photos of American Dreamz. Topher dont look like his body type is very VENOMLIKE.

Just wondering if at this point with the movie only a year away ow everyone else feels about his appearence. I have lots of faith in Sam R, but maybe I just expected more from Topher.

Exactly! I love all the "If Topher's not as big as this guy is for Spiderman 3 I demand we all boycott this film!!!" attitudes lol

Seriously tho - I'm fine with Venom not being built like a bodybuilder (I mean, c'mon -in some of the comics he'd probably win some competitions being as built as he is!!! Its like - "Hey Eddie, forget the revenge thing and go win the Olympia already!!! Make yourself a ton of cash!")

From what we hear, the suits gonna beef up Topher just enough so he looks more like an equal match to Spidey. So i'm not really putting much stock in what Topher looks like now, to be honest - I have faith the end result will be fine.

coming from somebody who has relatively no knowledge of the Spiderman universe, I think he could make a great venom. That pic kicks all kinds of ass.

Topher's physique will not necessarily dictate the size of Venom.

I'm presuming Venom will be mostly, if not all CGI. Don't know why, I just can't see it working with a guy in costume.
