I'm surprised no one has started a thred on it. I know that usually I'm more disappointed when writers leave as opposed to artists, but I feel that Bagley really captured the feel of the USM universe. The teenage Peter Parker, Mary Jane, Kong, and others were all fun to view with Bagley's interpretation. I always thought Greeen Goblin and Hobgoblin were lame villains until his extreme muscled-out versions. :woot: I feel like all the characters in USM had their own feel separate from ASM and the regular universe characters thanks to Bagley and I'm sad to see him leave.

There hasn't been a thread on it, because it's really old news by now. It was announced a good 6, 7 months ago that he was leaving. And by now, Immonen has already taken over the reigns.

Personally, while it does suck that a longtime artist like Bagley would ever have to leave, I'm not a terribly big fan of his art, and actually prefer Immonen a great deal to him.

Disappointed, to say the least. This will be a difficult adjustment, but I don't think the title will suffer too badly on account of it. Just give Stu a few issues to get his feet wet and I think the charm will come back. Hey, it might not even leave to begin with.

immonens art fits the book perfectly. its a loss, but immonens the perfect replacement. check out USM112 preview.. it rockz

I'll miss Bagely, but Immonen is just as good from what I've seen so far :o

I was dissapointed with the change, though i'm liking Immonen's art. So i'm still happy.

No, because i stopped reading USM about a year ago...Mark is supposedly moving over to one of the Avengers books (i forget which), and im actually looking forward to that.

Does anyone have a link to previews of Immonen's art in USM? Thanx. :word:

*raises hand*

I'm disappointed. I liked Bagley. HIS images are the characters I KNOW.

No matter how good the new guy is, everyone will look different... and in some ways it will be like a different story.

I'm sure I'll adjust... but I still wish I didn't have to. :(

I've always liked Bags a lot.

Ultimate won't be the same without him, since he is kinda the face of it.

I feel bad for anyone and everyone that follows him....because it is kinda like when McFarlane left Amazing..no matter how good an artist they got (ERik Larsen, etc)...they are never that "hot" guy that came before and defined things.

He's handling Mighty Avengers for a few issues.

Personnaly I really don't care (that must be because most of you are more attached to those comics than I am), I think it's an opportunity to see something different in USM, and let's face it, Bagley is no Connor McLeod he wouldn't do USM untli the end of times lol, I think that if he stopped doing it when he felt he needed to stop, than it's great.

No kidding, that'll be something to look forward to, indeed.

I think Immonen is sharp, but I haven't really gotten interested in his art yet.

Bags definitely added a lot of personality to the comic and that was half of the deal for me. I wasn't that bent on finishing the second half of the Bags/Immonen issue.

I've never been a huge Bagley fan, so no. His nipped-in-waist, girlish looking Spidey was always something I had to overlook when reading this title, so I'm definitely looking forward to the change. What I've seen of Immonen so far looks good.

I easily noticed the change in Spider-Man's physique first of all. Rather than being skinnier like in previous USM, Spidey looks a little more athletic-bodied. It's almost as if he's growing into a more adult figure.

...reminds me of a quote from Kazuki Takahashi about art and growth..

Bagley's a damn good artist (and very timely as well), but Immo. is a worthy replacement. Bags needs a break. His hand must be tired as hell by now.

I am very disappointed in Bagley leaving, I am not really a fan of Immonen's art. But what am I gonna do.

As much as I hated it, he had left Amazing Spider-man before this back in the day. He may have defined Ultimate but everyone needs some downtime at some point.

Immonen's a great replacement and I really look for Bagley to slid in some work every now and again.

Of coarse I'm disappointed that Mark Bagley left. He's easily my favorite artist of all time and no one captures the essence of Spider-man better imo. But seriously, I think it was about time. The guy has drawn Spider-man his whole career pretty much. I'm pretty sure he wants to expand a bit. Plus I agree with what Bendis has said time and time again. Bagley doesn't get appreciated as much as he should be. It's nice that he is finally starting to get his due. Its a shame that more artists in the industry don't follow his example. He never misses a deadline and always seems to get his work out on time. The level of consistency that his artwork has is unbelievable.
