Do any of you guys and gals like the music from decades ago, like Perry Como, Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, etc.......................

I love Sinatra. I also like Bobby Darin, Tony Bennett, and pretty much all the Rat Pack stuff. I never thought of them as easy listening though. I thought easy listening was that soft rock stuff. I also like Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman a lot too.

Glad you like these guys and this music. Darin and Bennett are great! As is Sinatra, of course. Miller and Goodman are great too.

These guys are under easy listening or 'crooner.' Easy listening is sometimes also considered soft rock sometimes, but I do believe that it's usually reserved for the likes of Como and Sinatra. If you ever check some music stores online (or probably even at your local record stores, easylistening will usually to always be centered around these Como, Sinatra type people).

Some of the songs are so good, you like them, whether they're categorized as "Easy Listening" or not.

Some of it is awesome, like there are songs by the Carpenters that are perfect little masterpieces of mellowness, some Gordon Lightfoot, etc.

But I wouldn't think of Glen Miller as "Easy Listening"
That stuff is raucous.
It's like Big Band Led Zeppelin.

Ha ha ha...I like that. That's an awesome way to describe it.

Yeah, I don't consider it easy listening either, but I was confused what he meant by easy listening. He put music from decades ago in his opening post, and since swing is from decades ago, I threw it in. Yeah, The Carpenters...that's what I thought easy listening was.
