Anything Smallville does Heroes does better!!!

oh thank god for that for a minute there i thought u were some well god knows what i thought lol so wat u doin / watching

I think Heroes shouls do a musical episode :woot:

sum1 could have a power and make them do that omg that would be so cool

Eh... that would be too silly for heroes.

hey why not have sylar singing brains glorious brains to the melody of food glorious food silly but awesome

What exactly does Sylar do with the brains of his victims? It doesn't look like he eats them.

we dont know i think he sees how they work then makes his brain copy it

I think SV gets much more $$$ than Heroes right now. SV does use a lot of CGI compared to Heroes yes. I feel that cna change the tone of a show a lot.

not even close, the producers of Smallville WISH they had the budget of Heroes.

Is the budget really that big? I hope we'll get some proper fights then. I want a super powered fight, something similar to Clark Vs. Titan. Something more than just a Telekinetic choke and some hits.

Sylar Vs. Peter was really disappointing IMO. We have those two individuals that have several different powers at their disposal, and they barely do anything with it.

Heroes is a really effects heavy show. Think about all the different powers they have to display on that show: flight, telekinesis, invisibility, time travel, healing, radiation, concussive blasts, morphing, phasing through objects, etc.

granted at one time or another, Smallville has done people with most of those powers but they were usually one offs except for Clark's whereas with Heroes they're all ongoing.

Budget wise i'd guess heroes probably has twice the budget per episode that Smallville does since it was picked up in its first season.

according to Heroes : Unmasked (British Documentry) every episode has the budget of a movie although that could mean anything

also even alot of sfx you dont even think about plus stunt doubles ect

Heroes does flight better then Smallville does. In Heroes it looks really realistic while in Smallville they rely on special effects to much and you can tell they are on a wire most of the time since how their fly looks really uncomfortable.

I would agree...

Someone tried to make a show about this a while ago....it was called mutant X....

What a pile of crap that was!

I disagree. Maybe in the superhero genre... but there aren't really many superhero tv shows to begin with (by that, I mean shows of quality).

BSG still smacks Heroes in the face, any day of the week

Oh yeah BSG for me is a better show...if outside the genre we are talking about.

SV, Heroes, Mutant X, Buffy, Angel to name a few shows that have been the focus of a or several Heroes.

All have there good points but for me I think Heroes will continue to prove it's worth.

I always thought the the flights in Smallville were meant to look comic-like...y'know, with the streaks and the poses. I thought it was like an homage.

As for Battlestar Galactica...after that third season? :o Especially that terrible boxing episode.

The streaks in SV are from the fact that all the fights are occuring in Bullet time. I wish SV had not latched onto this effect, like it was the only effect out there.

As for BSG. Yeah, season 3 was no where near as good as 2. But still better than anything I've seen on TV this year. As far as action goes, BSG blew most of their budget in the opening arc with the assault on New Caprica. I was expecting the rest of the season to be more drama and less action. And that's how it turned out.

And for the person who was complaining about Peter and Sylar's first fight... I mean come on, it was the climax of the FIRST SEASON. At that point in the series, only Sylar had really mastered powers.

1) if they delivered the ultimate battle in the first season,,, how would they ever up the ante for the subsequent seasons?

2)Everyone else was pretty much using there powers in combat for the first time.

Expecting an Apocoliptic battle at the end of season 1 was UNREASONABLE.

yeah, but Heroes is the first show of quality in the genre that is taking itself seriously. SV, when it first came out, had all the potential of heroes... but they just wasted the entire show by dumbing it down for the WB's traget audience.

Buffy and Angel were good for their time, and creative at that. But the environment of the series was much much much more pulpy, than the relative realism of heroes

Mutant X, Mantis, Nightman, Lois and Clark, birds of Prey... and all the other 3rd rate superhero tv shows don't even register on my TV as worth watching.

I would agree with that yes.
