Anything Smallville does Heroes does better!!!

The streaks in SV are from the fact that all the fights are occuring in Bullet time. I wish SV had not latched onto this effect, like it was the only effect out there.

As for BSG. Yeah, season 3 was no where near as good as 2. But still better than anything I've seen on TV this year. As far as action goes, BSG blew most of their budget in the opening arc with the assault on New Caprica. I was expecting the rest of the season to be more drama and less action. And that's how it turned out.

And for the person who was complaining about Peter and Sylar's first fight... I mean come on, it was the climax of the FIRST SEASON. At that point in the series, only Sylar had really mastered powers.

1) if they delivered the ultimate battle in the first season,,, how would they ever up the ante for the subsequent seasons?

2)Everyone else was pretty much using there powers in combat for the first time.

Expecting an Apocoliptic battle at the end of season 1 was UNREASONABLE.

100% correct

No chance of anything big happening because of what Superfreak says.

Everyone else was pretty much using there powers in combat for the first time.

yeah, but Heroes is the first show of quality in the genre that is taking itself seriously. SV, when it first came out, had all the potential of heroes... but they just wasted the entire show by dumbing it down for the WB's traget audience.

I don't think Smallville is dumbed down; I think they attempted this by resorting to the magic/sorcery elements in Season Four, but they realised their mistake and returned to its roots for the later seasons. Plus, they made up with it through the fourth season finale, "Commencement". Best. Smallville. Episode. Ever.

As for Heroes, if they had delivered a major fight, I would have been very disappointed (although I know I would've enjoyed it). They spent the entire season emphasising the point that the characters were finding their powers difficult to control, and that they were learning to use them as they developed. If they'd suddenly gone all-out on each other, it would have devalued everything that had come before it.

I do find it funny that in both shows it is often the ones without power who are smarter than those with power.

In SV Clarks mum, Lex, Lionel all powerless but much smarter than Clark and get the bigger picture.

In Heroes Noah, Mohinder very smart and brave with no powers.

Don't forget Chloe for Smallville, too.

Oh yeah, good point. I still can't think of her as a
krypto-freak
.

Me too it is a dubm twist if you ask me but I have a feeling that they may do that in heroes...
turn a long running character who we think is human into a power person, but if so I think they will do it better.

I actually liked the development of that arc in Smallville; I especially like the fact that [blackout]she's not just accepting it like some Freak of the Week from the first season, but she's actually rejecting it and struggling to adjust. Plus, it makes sense...the amount of time she's spent around meteor rock, it had to happen.[/blackout]

Well yes it makes sense but [BLACKOUT]to reject it after seeing all of the other freaks by now she should be used to it IMO[/BLACKOUT]

[blackout]Maybe that's part of the trouble...she's seen it happen to other people, even her mother, so in a way she's distanced herself from it. She automatically assigns it to other people. She's experienced so many bad things because of them - murder, kidnap, prejudice. Now she's one of them, so she would find it hard to cope - will she become as bad as the majority of them? Will everyone generalise her along with the murderers and other evil krypto-freaks? She's got a lot to worry about now.[/blackout]

She has more on her plate yes. I still think she should handle it with ease even with the points you raise.

Even with Jimmy making prejudiced comments against them, and Lana's hatred of them in the past?

I don't think Chloe's reaction is unnatural for her at all, especially since she almost died when they manifested for the first time.

She just took Clarks secret with ease and showed no real fear at all about GL or and other JLA member. I mean she was the JLA watch tower in one episode. She should be able to handle this.

Yeah, but that's all other people. Just because she's used to helping other people deal with similar problems, doesn't mean she's going to be good at it when it effects her, herself. Speaking of which, Clark is a real ass for not helping her through it...after all she's done for him, too.

It seems illogical to me that she can help other but not herself...and yes Clark = dunce

Well, think of it this way: you find it easier to help someone through a bereavement than when you experience it yourself; it's a lot harder to deal with when it's you.

I can see what you mean.

I will say this for SV too, they do show a lot of T&A compared to Heroes :woot:

Oh for shame :csad:

Speaking of girls though...the women on Heroes IMO opion are also better actresses.

sorry man... but you and apprentice have been discussing purely SV in here for about 1/2 day now.

The women on heroes are way hotter: although I have one observation: We now have what, 4 beautiful blond haired/blue eyed heroes on the show. Nazi Germany must have had a large proportion of 'special' people back in the day.

Yes yes indeed thank you for bringing it back to the Heores side.

You know that the season 1 DVD has a pilot that was never aired. I need to see that.

Yeah...apparently the explosion that they were trying to prevent in that pilot was originally a terrorist attack or something?
