Although thats hardly fair to people in radically different time zones. If the OOC thread goes up while one side of the world is asleep what chance do they have?
Tough luck. I've had that problem. There's a lot of things that'll keep you from posting at one time, often things you have no control over. Tough luck.

That's a pretty dick move, but whatever. If you try to swipe Joker out from under me, I'll be pretty upset.

And NufD (I think it was you), if you're serious about trying Harley, PM me. I have some ideas.

I think that's stupid. No offence, but where you are shouldn't affect the chances you have at getting a character.

Oh, and not to sound power hungry, but are you still looking for an AGM, MB?

Then what should? If five people apply for the Joker, you're just going to pick between them? No. You'll take the one who was first. I will, anyway.

And swipe EBJ? I'm just making my play for the character, as I well have the right.

Actually, since this game has established reserves...you don't have the right. And be prepared to be challenged on it if you try it. By your logic, I was the first to get in here and express interest so you're beat.

Alright, look. The reserve thing was my mistake, because I let Byrd Man lay claim to Batman before the application even went up. There, I admit it. And I further added to that mistake when I myself even expressed reserves on, at the time, either James Gordon or Harvey Dent. That mistake led to allowing for reserves by everyone, something I'm not proud of either.

But by the same token, I have to agree with GL that it's illogical for someone to merely say "I'm in" with no certain character in mind. Is it right that they, and myself, lay claim to characters? No, it isn't. And therefore, when it comes to the actual applications, I'm going to say something right now... reserves will become meaningless. Their sole purpose, in this thread, is to establish interest. But when/if the game comes to fruition, they will become obsolete.

What I'm saying is, if you want a character, prepare to take him/her. I'd suggest writing an application in advance, to assure you get who you want. But I'm not going to approve people based on who reserved who. I'm accepting based on whoever made claim first. This even goes for me, so anyone who gets a Jim Gordon app before me will be accepted. I won't be happy, but I won't fight it.

Uhm, no, my logic is simple: "provide application, get character."

Have you provided an application yet? In the proper place? No.

But this has already been solved by MB.

This is going to be interesting.

TECHNICALLY thats what an application is for. Think of it as a job application. 8 people apply, but you only have 1 position available. Do you pick the one that applied first? Not necessarily, you pick the one best qualified.

Furthermore, I'd like to add that I will not be writing an application in advance for James Gordon, simply because I have the advantage of knowing when the OOC thread will be put up, if it will. I'm going to be leaving it up to my own speed, on the matter.

Ok, so when's the IC going up? Since now I basically have to wait and jump in there before anyone can take the character - which is completely misleading given how this all started.

And if anyone takes the Joker from me, I don't see myself joining this RPG. Vengeful? Maybe. But it's complete bulls*** that you take reserves and then say they mean nothing. I'm not going to try to apply for Batman. Why? Because I respect Byrd enough to not double-cross him like that.

Buggaration..... If someone frickin' gets Bane, I ain't in no more......

Well, obviously they mean something, because you're not going to take Batman, out of respect for Byrd. The reserves have established interest in a certain character, so I doubt that anyone will be going out of their way to stab someone in the back.

The best of the new RPG's out there for a while, I'm so in!

If i'm reading this right, it's a 1940-50's-esque RPG, set entirely in gotham etc! To say no would be like stabbing myself in the face....

do we have a rough reserve list already, so i can make plans :)

Other than Harlekin with the Joker.

Obviously, I mean nothing to him. And I don't appreciate the blatant disrespect.

I'm having the same discussion in the application evolution thread. I don't agree.

My thoughts on reserves have long been known. They shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

Now, as for "stabbing someone in the back": I've made my wish known just as you have. I think it's blatantly disrespectful that you won't give me the chance to get the Joker as well. Or do I? No, I don't, because I don't think respect factors in here at all. We both want the same thing, don't we? Why should I accept "dibs"? You get there first when the OOC thread goes up, I'll gladly relinquish my claim. Until then, be prepared to fight for something.

I find it weird that this discussion in terms of the joker character is even happening. There is no OOC, and EBJ claimed a minor reserve(depending on how the GM's reacted, validates this claim), but this is all in this thread, do we even have approval yet?

No, we don't.

So you're saying the next time I hire someone at work, I should hire the first person who applied for the position, regardless of how incompetent, lazy, or untruthful they may be? Hey, MB, need a job?

Well it has my seal of approval.....or more like my walrus of approval, lol.

Yeah, OOC thread would be nice :)

BTW, is there a rough list of reserves, or just so I know what characters there are likely to be to interact with etc etc, and choose my character(potentially) from ones that aren't in that list?

No, not what I'm saying. This isn't work guys. It's a bleedin' game.

RPG's aren't about the "right qualifications".

I wanted the Joker too, Doesn't mean im going to throw a hissy fit about reserves. I respect EBJ enough to not plan to pull a fast one and get the App up before he does, because quite honestly its plain rude.

I'd prefer the better candidate for the role to interact with, why else even make applications? Why not just have people call out characters?

No offence, but on one hand, you say the above, but you also deny the first come first serve ideal too,
