Aqua - Discussion Thread(Spoilers)

remeber ther are different verisons of aquaman there, in the golden years aquaman was a softy so dude and bro could be part of his lingo considering he was first A.C before aquaman. to day aquaman is almost an undersea badass version of batman.

Hey Dark, do the math hon. ;)
(We need a good Seinfeld quote here LOL)
HA :D

Everyone is avoiding that he got called Superboy :D :D :D lol

As for the episode, I liked it overall... The acting was pretty bad at times though :down

One more try..

Lois wore that bikini like nobody's business. As a straight girl, I still say, "Wow!"

I thought Lois was a little.. uneven in this ep. Maybe I just don't really "get" the character yet. Did she really need to rip on the guy's breath minutes after he saved her life? Then she's falling over herself drooling for him.

I liked the partnership we saw between Clark and A.C. but I wasn't very impressed with Ritchson's acting. His big teeth were freaking me out a little too. He does have one damn impressive body though.. phyically, he was a perfect Aquaman. I wish they would have shown what Clark and A.C. did together to destroy Leviathan.

The JLA line was funny.. I squealed :).. and it's reminiscent of what Bart (Flash) said to Clark in Run. This ep was packed with nods to the mythos. A.C. called Clark "Superboy".. then told him to "stay Super" at the end. I thought the best line of the show was after Clark told A.C. to "stay out of trouble," and A.C. replied, "Get in some.." That exchange kinda summed up the point of this ep, IMO.

Lex.. I love watching this evil Lex unfold. I'm really glad they had that scene near the end where Clark asks him if he ever thinks about where his life is heading.. and Lex answers, "all the time." It's both sad and fascinating to watch him. MR is doing a great job.. lots of subtlety in his expressions and especially his eyes. You could see the hurt mixed with the defiance in that final scene with Clark.

How weird is it to see Marsters without his accent? It's like I kept straining to hear it... even though I know he's really an American. He was very smooth. I really look forward to seeing a lot more of him

Clark. Is. Superman. Okay, maybe he's not wearing the suit yet, but every shot of him just screams Superman. Maybe it's because they aren't trying to make Welling out to be a high school kid anymore.. or maybe it's just because he's owns this role so freakin' much.

Seriously.. people should be KICKING themselves.

I was looking forward to next week's ep..well, I guess I still am since I look forward to any new SV eps.. but I have to admit, the trailer has me a little concerned. No wonder KK wasn't thrilled about doing this ep.. she looked silly.

The JLA line was done in a very lame way :down Saw it coming faster than Superman folds clothes on laundry day :down

Have you no sense of fun?

Oh yeah, and Marsters was quite a bright spot in this episode. His acting was leagues above everyone else  Can't wait to see him develop on the show

Yeah. And the "there's no such thing as vampires" line from the teaser was delivered so straight faced, even though you know he was probabl;y laughing his ass off about it afterwards.

Working with the lines he was given whether good ones or not... Definite kudos to that.

SV is getting this habit of not just making nods to certain things, but blatantly pointing them out in a manner thats almost insulting to the average intelligence of a human being

Marsters was one of the reasons I enjoyed this episode, despite my reservations with the actor playing AC. And to whoever said he was leagues above everyone else in the acting department I totally agree, although all the regulars are excellent too. But I think it comes from all those years working on Buffy and Angel.

*hugs Zo* :D
:D I will definitely take that hug, especially now...

I agree that Marsters was a bright spot....I was excited by that fact that finally his character has shown up. I always enjoyed him as Spike on BtVS, but I loved seeing him in this role. Can't wait for more, especially what comes next....
"Actually, it is mine."

Clark seemed jealous in the beginning when he said that guy is faster then me to Chloe Super Power wise lol

Seriously, I dont know why everyone is praising this episode. The dude who played Aquaman was a horrible actor that had no chemistry with anyone, especially Lois on screen. And the whole romance was completely forced. Why waist our time with that crap instead of actually flushing out the main part of the story?
Lex was great in his scene with Aquaman though and Marsters was Fine, pun intended. I hope his character really turns out, I like him as an actor, I know it was merely an into to him, but I was hoping for some more sinister crap from his end, even if it wasnt visable to Clark.
And there was like no pace to this episode, it seemed strung togeather with no climax.

Bah.

I was FREEEAKED when I heard James talk in an American accent! Its just not the same :(

I LOOOOOVED this episode...I might say maybe a tiny bit notch over "Run" because of the underwater fight, Clark being overprotective of Lois and just him and A.C. teaming up against Lex Luthor...

I too loved the JLA and entourage lines...

I bet you jump to the last page of the story don't you?

thought it was good ep... dude who played ac could have been better.... like all the nods too like the jla and fishish terms along with superboy.... and cant believe no one pointed out what marsters sed in his scene.... something along the lines of "the best super computer is" pointing to his head "the brain"

this is kind of off topic, but i cant get the checkout page to buy the Superman dogtags to load.... maybe its overloaded. anyone else have this problem?

Bah.

I agree with several of your points DZ. The shaky acting and no chemistry especially. I think the climax could have been Clark and A.C. destroying the Leviathan together as Lex was trying to demo it to the bigwigs.. but we didn't see any of it.

I also thought the final loft scene with Clark and Lois was a little...much. We get it already..

That said, I still think there was much to like about this episode too. I didn't like it nearly as much as the previous 3, but I still enjoyed watching it and I'll probably watch it again.

I know ppl really wana see Lex evil right away, and I've beat this issue into the ground, but again, I think his good side has disappeared way too quickly since last season. In a matter of 6-7 episodes he's gone from half good/half evil to basically all evil, and when this is happening a little over four seasons into the show, the transformation seems rushed to me compared to how they've developed him up until now. Rosenbaum is awesome as usual, but when all of you say he's slowly but surely turning evil, I'm not seeing the slow part.

Lex tortured AC because he called him a "tool", duh!!!

hehe. That was funny.

The season so far topples most of the eppys in the past seasons. Can't wait to see where they go this season, SOO many possibilities now that the FOS has been unfolded.
