I think the New 52 look would be perfect.

Just with some muting of the colors so he doesn't stick out as a poptart among the darker outfits of the rest of the team.

When thinking a lot about the matter, I come to the conclusion that Arthur just HAS to wear the classic suit. There is no other way.
They can base it on the new 52 look, they can tweak the design here and there, they can make it out of either scales or sleak armour, the suit can be metallic or consist of muted colors etc etc... but it still has to be orange and green. Or atleast green/dark green. The orange part can be changed into gold, or bronze, or copper, or brass (which is gold-like anyway).

The manip that resembles the 90's chest piece look is so fantastic. I think the best redesign of the classic orange was the Sword of Atlantis one.

IMHO, I think that in this particular case the dark palette colors will work for Aquaman - he's not a character who should look like the American flag or any other. On another note I wish that they'd add gills to because fishes have those...or else he needs to sprout water like a whale - sorry if I'm making any people need a psychologist for this last comment...

As interesting as it sounds and though it would make sense in a real life, I really don't want them to make him some sort of human-fish hybrid like he's a resident of Innsmouth.
Though, if I'm not mistaken, Arthur Curry is from New England, right? I wonder to what extent were creators of Aquaman inspired by Lovecraft's work...?

And I already had a need to see a psychiatrist prior to reading this coment of yours, so don't worry about that.

My instinct is that they'll lean towards the 90's look. Maybe as he sort of starts to fit in with the League, he can adopt more of the orange/green classic superhero look. But I imagine his early look will be shirtless, complete with gratuitous Snyder ab shots.

For a solo Aquaman movie where he is the King of Atlantis and all that, this would be my ideal look honestly. But come joining the Justice League, it'll be more reasonable to go with the classic Aquaman suit (I honestly prefer the New 52 suit but don't know if it'll look good on Aquamomoa ) so he fits in with the rest of the league.

I wouldn't mind if they went the '90s route with Jason's Aquaman. I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm having trouble seeing Jason Momoa as the clean-shaven, short-haired Aquaman. Something like that fan-art could work.
