When I was young, hell yes, Jim Lee - Punisher War Journal, X-Men. Still love his stuff! Can't ignore Alex Ross though- His work is classic and iconic.

I love Alex Ross. He's one of my favorite artists ever...the classic lineup looks so epic and iconic when he draws them.

His superheroes at least look like they could be real people, unlike the totally unrealistic musculature with the painted on costumes typical of most superhero artists.

Most artists aren't going for a real-life style.

Ross is, which makes it all the more creepier when some his superheroes have massive chins and wear costumes that are clearly spandex.

He has other great points though, and I do love his art overall.

Hey, it's fine not to like Ross' art, but saying it makes the characters, who all have great physiques and toned bodies, look fat falls into the head scratching territory for me and makes me wonder about the lofty physical standards those that do think so must be judging the general populace under. I guess the average pro-wrestler is fat too?

I would combine the top half of the first image (including the belt) with the lower half and neckline of the second. I prefer the bracers over the standard gloves, but if it were up to me, he'd have neither. I love that YJ's Aquaman didn't wear shoes, but I imagine that would be impractical for live action.

That's what I dislike about Jim Lee's art; his heroes are always disproportionately muscular.

They should feel free to redesign Aquaman's costume as much as they want, IMO, as long as it falls within the realm of "badass underwater king who looks cool". Sticking with the orange jersey just for the sake of it is a big no-no.
