The Amazing Spider-Man Are You Happy About The Reboot?

Are You Happy with the Reboot?

  • Heck Yeah! They'll finally do it right this time! Bring on the quips!

  • Heck No! I loved me some Raimi and Tobey!

  • Not sure yet. I'll wait and see who they get replaced with.

Neither happy or angry. I'll wait and see. Though I'm still worried because Sony, Arad and Ziskin is still in charge. I mean they have had some terrible ideas for this franchise which I'm glad never happend, oh, well most of it happend in Spider-Man 3. :csad:

I hope it's a great film. Bringing him back to high school sounds promising though.

I think this is a great. We'll have a chance to see the people at Sony put their vision of Spidey on the big screen. It's better than having a director wanting to control everything without a purpose. Venom in SM3 could have been really good if we could have just listened to what Sony and Avi wanted.

poll option #3 should say I'll wait untill I see the movie

I'm upset with Disney for potentially becoming a bully to other corporations again! There is absolutely no need for this reboot! :cmad::doh:

What does Disney have to do with this?

This reboot is all Sony.

Sony rebooted after Raimi could not guarantee to meet the 2011 deadline, which means Disney's highly payed attorneys could snoop around and find loop holes in the distribution rights if he didn't, and potentially snatch them away.

What.....the f**k.....are you smoking

and.....(wait for it)
.....
......
.....
Can I have some?

I guess so, I haven't wanted to tlk about spidey this much since I saw spiderman 1 when I was a kid.

Are you like a disgruntled former Disney world mascot?

Disney has pretty much nothing to do with this...

How is something a loophole when it's clearly outlined in a contract? It's been well known that Sony has to make a Spidey film every few years in order to keep the licensing rights, it's ALWAYS been like that, LONG before Disney tried buying Marvel entertainment.

According to reports Sony was going to reboot ANYWAY after Raimi's fourth film.

nobody knows what 8wid is talking about....i think he's either drunk or high

Once they get casting underway, a director, and a trailer is up I'll maybe voice my opinion. I think a reboot can correct some things of the past, but it still does irk me that Raimi and Sony couldn't have worked out a deal to fix the problems with the "4" script and reached a compromise. I feel bad for Toby, Kirsten, and Malkovich and everyone involved.

It was like someone just dropped an atom bomb on them without giving them a heads-up. I hope J.K. Simmons can be summoned back as J.J. but it might be a bit redundant if he is going, "Who's this kid? Peter Parker? Never heard of you, why're you still here, have I fired yet, no, well you're fired... I mean hired."

As of right now... I'm a wait and see kind of guy but the talk of possibilities of what is to come has got me rubbing my hands in anticipation.

But, you know what they did? They ****ed with Raimi and he left.
Nah, they fired his ass. It was all planned. Thus is why Sony only signs Raimi for one movie at a time and not for multiple films.

Do I think a reboot is the ideal solution, when Spidey already had an up and running, highly successful, and for the most part great film franchise? No, but I´ll look forward to it as an opportunity for a fresh take and a chance to improve in areas where the old one didn´t work that well.

I seriously doubt this is true however it does bring up a certain point. One problem I had with Raimi's movies is that I didnt really feel a connection between all three movies. The movies felt to self contained to me. The best sequels are the ones that have a strong connection to the previous films in other words when the story carries on.

I disagree. I think each film should stand on it's own. Whenever sequels stretch out one big plot it ends up poorly more often then not. For example, the Pirates and Matrix trilogies. The best film in both those trilogies were self contained and the worst two are the ones connected to each other.

I just like to remind the reboot lovers that, this being Hollywood, where it´s a miracle anything good gets done with all the investors and execs making stupid demands, there´s always a high percent chance the franchise may change for the worse instead of better. In that case, I´ll be sad for Spidey, but I won´t miss the chance to laugh at the Raimi bashers.

Well the problem with the Pirates movie is that the entire plot/character story ended with the first movie, like it was completely over. Then they just threw some story together to extend it. I guess what I meant was is that sequels are best when the first movie is made with sequels in mind, that way it allows the story to flow better.

Couldn't be any worse than Spider-Man 3 :awesome:

Agreed. Then they'll be like " I knew this film was going to be crap! The director is terrible." Acting like they were against it all along.

No because thats already some of our opinions on Spider-Man 4, not the reboot
