Are you happy that Sylar's got his powers back?

  • Yes - can't wait for him to get some more brains!

  • No - he should have died ages ago!

  • I don't care.

Sylar is amazing... but his time will eventually end and then they have to come up with another greater villain unless he's like magneto and is always the opposite side and just stays with the heroes forever

I started losing interest in Sylar once they revealed he wasn't a middle-aged guy, but a young, nerdy, loser mama's boy. He should've been killed off already. He has probably the least dimension out of all the characters right now. Away with him.

maybe, but if it wasn't for his nerdy self they'd have no one to fight off right now with Adam trapped in a coffin

what about the guy who shot Nathan? And Angela Petrelli? And any other character they could come up with that would be a gajillion times more interesting then Sylar?

Yeah, Sylar is wicked! Superglad he's got his powers back.

I have to voice my concerns, however, over trapping Adam in a coffin. He's not dead, so presumably they're bringing him back, right? He's far too interesting, and that plot thread is far too big to not bring him back soon.

I'm happy he got his power back. it was kinda dull not seeing him use his power at all for Volume 2. Expecting him to cause all havoc for Volume 3.:hoboj:

Back to same-old same-old

Sylar doesn't offer any new stories to tell... it's just new dialogue and action on the same scenes for S1 for him. No character development, giving him back his powers without changing him fundamentally was a very VERY bad idea.

the only way Sylar can become interesting again is if even with his abilities back he is still in peril, I don't know, have Mohinder who now has more leverage in the company, use its recourses to hunt down Sylar like a ****ing dog

I mean, yes, he's pretty unstoppable now, but Mohinder, Molly, Maya and many others may have a similar thirst for vengance, add Elle and whatever else the company can dish out on him and that would help his character

Doesnt Sylar now have the power to make illusions? Cuz he studied that girl's brain but he just couldnt do it cuz he had the virus. Im not sure if im right though.

It will be interesting to see if he gets to keep those powers, because technically he should have Alejandro's too right? I was wondering about that. I am looking forward to seeing other new villians as well though. There's plenty of room for more. :yay:

I'm not sure if bringing Sylar back is a great idea, unless the writers start getting bold and have Sylar really wrecking havoc, like if he goes after the main heroes (like Hiro) to try to take their powers, instead of nameless, faceless mutants. If that happens, then everyone will be in jeopardy and make the show much more interesting (like back when he went after Claire).

Instead of just getting more powers, they should have Sylar go personal on everyone, as they did try to kill him. Especially Hiro.

So not being a middle aged guy makes him a bad villain? Having a nerdy side (which totally makes him human) and wanting his mom to be proud of him makes him a mama's boy? Sylar has plenty of dimension. We know his motive. Wanting to be special,to stand out is something a lot of people want and can relate to. We know his background we know why he wants to be special. We saw him try to redeem himself when he realized he could kill a lot more people than he wanted to. We saw him turn completely evil again when his mother rejected him and made him feel like he needed to be special for her to be proud of him. How can you say that he probably has the least dimension of all the characters?

I said that's why I lost interest.:o

and wanting his mom to be proud of him makes him a mama's boy?

please, it was obvious his mother coddled him, and he had no other friends but her.

Yes, and so he kills people to that effect. So..?

Because he comes off like caricature. He got plenty of development in the first season, but beyond on how much room is there to grow? He's just going to continue killing people and gaining powers, and I'm bored already just from typing this.

Most of the other characters have experienced some change, they've questioned themselves, they've switched sides, their perspectives were muddled. All of those things I found more interesting than what was done with Sylar.

Yeah ok. I agree that in volume 2 he hasn't really done anything we haven't seen already but i think that'll change in volume 3. He'll probably try to take down the company for giving him that virus.

what was the point of that anyway? was he just a guinea pig? and why leave one person in charge of a serial killer?

Did Alejandro even have a power? (other than just being able to calm down/turn off maya's ability - which she could later do by herself)

I would assume that they are different evolutions of the same power. Which is why she was eventually able to do it herself.

Alejandro didn't just calm her down, he absorbed the illness.

He didn't pick Alejandro's brain.

Well not that we saw, but then again we've only actually seen him like in the act for Candice right? I mean other than that, we've seen people die, and he has the power afterwards, I don't see how this is any different.

it's different because his powers didn't work, and he wasn't even interested in taking Alejandro's power.

I'll buy that his powers weren't working. But I wouldn't say he wasn't interested in Alejandro's power, I mean he may have been MORE interested in Maya's but he's not one to turn down a new ability.

But if he can't make use it, then there's no point.

Yeah but he didn't know for sure he couldn't use it until AFTER he killed him and Mohinder told him about the virus. I get what you're saying. Really. I totally agree and hadn't thought about that before but yeah he totally shouldn't have his or Candice's.

If he did have alejandro's power, which i doubt he has, maya would be no problem because he could simply shut her powers off by touching her. Also Alejandro didnt get affected by maya's power, possibly because of his power.

Although i dont think sylar would have it. Why would he open his brain if, at that point, he knew he couldnt absorb a new power?
