I'm just curious to see what the general consensus is regarding the casting of Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man.

So put your vote on the poll, and lets see what the numbers look like.

at first i was undecided...but ill say yes now that ive seen his work and truly appreciated instead of casting him aside

yes. he looks like peter and he is a brilliant actor so I could care less he isn't a teen.

I'm pleasantly surprised by this casting. I never liked any of the candidates and I was skeptical they could find a decent Parker/Spider-man.

He looks and sounds how Peter Parker looks and sounds in my head. Plus he's a superb actor.

Can't wait to see the first trailer.

Damn good cast, damn good actor. But it won't mean a damn thing if Peter Parker/Spider-Man isn't in the script, and he's just another made up character because the director/writers doesn't get Spider-Man.

Well, I had almost no hopes for this reboot UNTIL this casting, so yeah, I think it's great.

He's a great actor who looks and sounds more like Peter Parker than Tobey did, so yay.

Yes because he looks like he can pull it off. No because he's not the right age for a reboot.

I'm in the "wait and see" camp. He certainly looks the part, though.

I checked out some clips of him in Lions for Lambs to get an idea of how he sounded with an American accent and he kind of reminded me of Rino Romano (Spider-Man Unlimited/the old PS1 games), which is a good thing. I'm sure he's a fine actor and all, but it seems like a weird choice considering most of us were expecting someone much younger to play the part.

With that in mind, I'm currently undecided and probably won't make my final decision until after I've seen him IN character.

made this the day after to make myself feel more confident in the casting choice...and i say hes near perfect

This could possibly outdo RDJ as the best comic book casting... Only time will tell.

I'm one of the few in the undecided camp. The fact that everyone is talking about how great of an actor he is inspires confidence, as does the fact that he apparently outperformed Anton Yelchin, who not only looks more like the character and is closer to the right age but is a very talented actor. But he looks older than he should. Still, it's much better than a lot of the other choices. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Im extremely happy. I dont really care that they changed the high school setting. I think he just embodies Parker so much.

Never seem him act nor heard of him before so I really don't have an opinion right now.

I've seen his work and I can honestly say I think he's an excellent choice.

I don't really have a problem with it. He has the look. Only time will tell if he can pull it off.

I'm very happy. I have Boy A on my queue. But from that montage I'm already sold. He's the best possible choice. And to think I barely acknowledged this guy when he was he was one of the names in the running. I didn't think he would get it. I just thought he was one of those throwaway names.

Now that I have made myself familiar with more of his work; yes, definitely. His talent speaks for itself and I'm pretty excited to see his Peter Parker.

I hope the writers give him (garfield) material that challenges his talent though, because maguire came across as pretty mediocre (bar a few scenes noteably when he confesses he was responsible for uncle ben's death) but he was excellent in brothers so it wasn't the actor but the material.

He's got the look and is a great actor. And the fact that he got the part due to his audition being better than the others fills me with confidence.

And i don't get it when people say he is too old... He looks MUCH, MUCH younger than Tobey did in his first Spider-Man. Garfield looks 20, maybe younger.

Am I happy with the casting of Andrew Garfield? YES. I am... It could've truely went to ****! Emagine Zac Efron as spidey!???? I would've killed my self first!

It seems that the problem many have with Andrew, isn't really about Andrew him self. It's more that he's what, 26 years old??? And surpposedly playing a 16 year old.

I think he can easily pull off the part. He certainly LOOKS the part more than Maguire did. I always really liked Maguire, so it isn't personal. But I think Garfield will make a killer Spiderman/Peter Parker! I always loved him in "Lions of the Lambs". If you haven't seen that movie, you should. He's GREAT in it!

I'm happy! I haven't seen him in much though but I feel confident. The fact that they change the whole setting just to give him the role because he hit the nail as Parker is a great sign imo.
