Arnold Is Back for Terminator 5 - Part 1

I have to admit that Thor 2 was a mess weeks later when I saw Catching Fire; a movie that had tons of weight and emotion while still remained a tentpole and accessable for the masses.

But Taylor had issues with Marvel so it's one of those types of productions.

Ya the only thing I hope the best for with this movie is the screenplay, it's one of the things I"m hoping they do right.

Well, keep in mind that the copyright will revert back to Cameron in a few years. After that, no one will ever be able to touch the property again or do anything with it, without the creator's consent. But I agree. I love Terminator and I don't want to see the brand damaged with another misfire.

In 2019 yes. But I will bet he will sell it. He's over Terminator now I think. He only breathes Avatar anymore it seems.

Thor is more of a screenplay problem.

Alan Taylor is an amazing director see Game of Thrones.

And it's going to happen, just like they will never stop making Batman films. So to me instead of doing the usual: "Don't do it" I go with "Hopefully they do it well".

As for Emilia she really is a great actress, and has that vulnerability about her, but underlying strength. She shows a lot of her strength in season 3 of GOT as Dany. I think even as an actress she has even more to offer.

Game of Thrones is awesome but he directed six episodes. It's hard to gauge just how good a director is when they are just coming in to do a few episodes of a TV show. There's usually already a lot that's been worked out and it's more of a case of "Here are the keys, don't wreck the car" with the director. For example, Bryan Cranston has directed a few episodes of Breaking Bad - generally regarded as one of the best TV shows of all time if not THE best - and he's not landing any high-profile directing gigs that I know of.

Also, an update on Sarah's casting:

Hollywood has been waiting with baited breath to see who would land the coveted role, which is expected to go to either Emilia Clarke (“Game of Thrones”) or Brie Larson (“Short Term 12″). Taylor, who has directed numerous episodes of “Game of Thrones,” is said to favor Clarke, while Paramount prefers Larson, having cast her opposite Mark Wahlberg in “The Gambler” on the belief that she’s a rising star. The two sides will have to come to a decision soon, as Paramount only has holds on the two actresses until Dec. 15.

He was a huge part of GOT, one of the producers even said that at one time. He was their main core guy for season 1 and 2. So no that's just not always the case. There is a reason Hollywood has picked him up because he is a good director, and I think has lots to offer. He was a pivotal cog in the GOT wheel until he got the Hollywood gig. And the difference with Bryan is that Alan is actually picking up some huge gigs. Bryan came into Breaking Bad later with directing, Alan was one of the ones alongside Van Patten that was a big cog in the way it was made.

Awesome to see Jason Clarke in talks. I'm more excited to see them than awful Ahhhhnold

I don't think he would. I wouldn't expect him to ever make another one (nor would I want him to) but knowing the rights are back in the creators hands would be good enough. To me, Terminator will always be Cameron's iconic signature creation. I just don't want to see Hollywood milking it every decade.

I used to fully agree, but I want to see a good trilogy that closes the loop. Cameron wanted to do T3 originally but the producers that bought it from his then wife (Gale Ann Hurd) did not want to wait for him. Which was sad. I hope this trilogy succeeds where it last failed. T1 and T2 will always be classics and never go away, but I think there is more to the story (so did Cameron) that could be fulfilled. He actually is helping with this trilogy, the main writer was one of the writers for Avatar and the new Avatars. They are in constant communication apparently.

Now that the film is official and on it's way for 2015 with news updates popping up I'm starting to get excited,Not sure how it'll turn out but I always love me a new Terminator movie cause I just love the characters/concept and universe too much,When it comes to robots a Terminator film is the cream of the crop for me,T3 and Salvation aren't anywhere near the level of T1 and especially T2 but I admit I still enjoy them and they are in my dvd collection with the first two films.

My guess is he'll reboot it or make a sequel to T2 set in the future with flashbacks of his version of events between after T2 and before his new film and maybe a sequel or two to make a trilogy before ending the franchise for good

No I doubt he'll do anything with it. He'll just keep the rights like how Robert Zemeckis is protecting Back to the Future, since he's the part-owner to that franchise.

Yeah I think Bill in some ways is protecting Ghostbusters in his own way by not wanting to appear in part 3.

Yeah maybe,Probably just do special anniversary editions for T1&2 each new video format after Blu-Ray

Cameron is busy with Avatar till 2018 or whatever. By then he'll probably onto Battle Angel unless he's a *****e-lier.

Jason Clarke is an amazing actor. He's also to me the most unlikely actor in Hollywood. The underdog type who winning people over by being in great movies.

Even though Jessica Chastain did an amazing job in 'Zero Dark Thirty', Jason Clarke's character was my favourite.

When is Avatar II being released?,He'll definitely do Battle Angel after Avatar II and maybe do III after that,I still think he'll do at least one more Terminator film but not anytime soon after he gets the rights back

Luis, sorry to say Cameron is officially doing Avatar 2,3, and 4 back to back. He'll be directing all three sequels in his Na'vii PJs.

i dont hope for Jason Clarke........i demand Jason Clarke for Connor

I liked Avatar and so I don't mind the sequels being filmed and released back to back although Battle Angel being delayed by this much does kinda suck

So yeah like I said..He won't be doing a Terminator film anytime soon after getting back the rights,When he passes away do the rights stay with his family estate or what?

Jason Clarke would be perfect for a reboot. his look would give this new franchise new hope. he doesnt look hollywood attractive. he looks like a villain.

Yep I don't have an issue with his attractiveness but I think he looks like a villain as well.
