Arnold Is Back for Terminator 5

i hope this is going to be a good script and not just a movie put together for arnold to return to the series with. i thought salvation was a great turn for the series. it didnt really feature arnold and was original in that it took place after the bombs dropped. the previous 3 films only really alluded to it happening and nothing past skynet taking over. i wouldnt mind christian bale returning for john conner, if its within a few years of when salvation took place. if its a rather large timeline like all the previous movies have between them i would like to see him still return but a new actor wouldnt bother me since hes been represented by a different person every film. but at this point conner should remain the same actor for continuity sake. the way i see it is this movie will either take a new step in a different direction or it will end up ending where part 1 started with the time machine and reese going back (which i dont want). i dont want to see a movie that presents an endless loop of events being repeated. salvation and t3 pretty much talked about how seeing as how the future already happened and previous events were being changed that they would just keep going in a totally different route. if the movie were about the time machine i would love to see it destroyed or used in a really unique way so the potential for either another entry years later would be possible or the series could be ended.

aside from who is going to play john conner, what role arnold will have or what story this will use, i want to kno whats going to happen to kyle reese. obviously he doesnt need to be sent back in time because john conner already exists. the only reason he was ever sent back originally was to alter events from happening. so in essence the original john conner was a totally different person with a different father. kyle reese was sent back from the future and created the universe how we know it (which is clearly not the original way it happened as always referred to). i would think that johns kids would play a part in the story like how t3 mentioned seeing as how his wife was pregnant in the last one. theres good potential so i hope they take advantage of it and dont just try and one-up the originals with a newer looking t1000 or something.

as far as arnold tho, i think he should embrace his age and go with a character that isnt the robot. if they want to have his robot counterpart they could easily do what they did with clu for tron legacy, just without the common talking. visually that character was cool until he spoke so that shouldnt be an issue if they were to use the arnold t-800 again seeing as how its basically hinted at that that model is in mass production (unless it was just that one base that got blown up). if the evetns are already happening faster then the new film should have the regular t-800s just walking around cuz the skin isnt needed except for infiltration or time travel. imsure everybody will kno what arnold looks like in the future from john from a mass text or something lmao.

I really hope the studio picks a writer with a good resume to handle Terminator.

I'm writing a fan fiction script at the moment that deals with an older John Connor on a journey back to Los Angeles, plus a parallel story about him and Sarah before Judgment Day. Whoever's writing the movie could take similar cues.

I'm open minded about this, it all depends one what angle they take. I was hoping Arnie would be doing that war movie though.

Why is Terminator: Salvation being referred to as a reboot? Jesus, that term gets thrown around way too often.

Didn't one of the original writers of T2 write a treatment for a T5 and t6. they should probably use that one.

^Yeah William Wisher, sounded like a good story except bringing Sarah back which now wouldnt make sense in my eyes.

^^ I somewhat agree. I'm very curious as to how they will fit Arnold into all of this. Call me excited!

Arnold needs to Retire . Terminator 3 was just awful . It was the worst one the Terminator franchise .

^^ It was not. I actually didn't find it bad. It just wasn't nearly on the same level as T1 or T2.

Clearly not. But I tend to put the blame more on the director. Jonathon Mostow.

^^ as Do I. After seeing T2 at the age of 4, the image off John Connor trying to go through the exit in the back of the mall with Arnold walking towards him in a slow motion along with taking the shotgun out of the flower package still sticks in my head

Could be cool. Terminator Salvation was alright but imho it didn't really feel like a terminator film... and I didn't really like sam worthington in it. Personally I think it would be interesting if Arnold was back as the main villain, which I know happened in TS but for the full film this time.

Justin Lin could be cool. After seeing Book of Eli, I thought The Hughes Brothers might be alright for a Terminator film.

I actually enjoyed the third one. Was it as good as the others? No, but it was still fun.
