Arnold Is Back for Terminator 5

I think under the right director, this movie can do good.

I hope the rumor about the original cast returning is false. But either way, I think this is going to be an alternate reality reboot like Star Trek. There's no way around T3 & Salvation, unless this movie's going to be a continuation of Salvation with a T-800 as a good guy.

I wouldn't mind bringing back the original cast if they utilized them in some interesting way. I remember hearing that in T2, the T-1000 was supposed to look like Kyle Reese at one point to show a complete reversal of the Terminator 1 roles. Them running into a Terminator looking like him in the future would be interesting.

That being said, I have very little faith in this franchise and I doubt they probably won't do anything close to interesting with the original cast if they were to come back.

It seems like they have this idea that if they bring back the original cast that it will some how manifest it self into a James Cameron Terminator film. And as much as i love Edward Furlongs John Connor it wouldnt be right to have him portraying future John.

^^ Maybe they actually hav a really good idea in mind for this film. We need a good director, that's for sure.

if Justin Lin thinks that he can just call all the old actors back for a small paycheck then he is funny.
i dont think that Hamilton and Biehn deserve the money. but they would have to be crazy to just take a small paycheck with a director that they dont know. now with Cameron it would of course make sense.

i am very shocked that after T3 and TS they still can not let it go. whats there not to understand? a good movie can make money? no s... Sherlock.

How, how, could Michael Biehn possibly be in this? This supposed production just keeps getting more bizarre by the day.

Easy...

Arnie's T-800 is sent back to the night of his death and allows him to live, THUS ensuring Michael's return.

Hmmm, plausible. What about Arnie, who in truth was showing his age in T3.

Yes, so easy, it feels like an excuse to bring back an original actor rather than an important plot point of the series. So easy... that it completely invalidates Kyle's sacrifice and role in the saga.

It was always a one way trip for him, no matter what time line he came from.

Are U kidding me? They are bringing Arnold's old a$$ back for Terminator?
I can see it now. Instead of "I'll be back" it's more like "Ouch.....My Back". LOL

no respect!

I like Arnold. I love Terminator. But honestly I would prefer a good sequel to Terminator Salvation. That had so much potential even without Arnold :(

I agree!,The original plan for Salvation was to be the first of a new trilogy where John Connor was meant to be a side character then get bigger much more in the next two while the final film was to finally introduce the time-machines&Kyle going trough time in 2029.

Tons of potential right there!,I'm still hoping the 5th movie takes place a few years(5-10)after Salvation even with the rumors about the original cast&2012!!

I'm honestly looking forward to this movie. Personally, I'm neutral if Arnold is involved or not, IMO he's not essential to the Terminator storyline and he's not needed. The Model 101 skin is among countless others that SkyNet has for their Terminators, and I'd like to see what the others are.

I'm one of the few who really liked Salvation. It wasn't nearly as good as the first two, no, but it's definitely worlds better than T3 and I found it to be an enjoyable, different and worthy addition to the series. It was great finally having a movie set during the Future War and seeing the earlier Terminator designs and seeing a younger Kyle. I personally would love it if the next two movies were set in the timeframe of the Future War, with T5 set during 2029 or near there.

Saw T3 last night, ehh wasn't as bad as i hear people make it sound. But there were definitely some cringe worthy moments in there. and some misplaced comedy as well. I was kinda disappointed with the end too. I didn't feel satisfied. Something was missing.

I still think 3 is easily the weak link of the bunch. It feels like a bad T2 spoof to me, a spoof that at the last minute was added to the official canon.

Eh, there were humorous moments, but TS was way worse to me. The whole premise of TS was based around Skynet knowing who Kyle Reese (especially a young Kyle Reese) was let alone looked like, which in itself did not really make sense to me. And just all of the other things that contradicted what the originals brought up. Skynet was weak, the robots looked terrible. I hated the landscape it did not feel like the future Cameron painted, TS looked just like a ghost town. While T3 at least kept with the future look that made it feel like (as Cameron put it) everything frozen in time.

I tried to like TS but it was terrible just because of everything it spit on with T1 and T2. T3 was not that great, but not as bad as some made it out to be. It was more humorous at times but I still think it worked way more then TS.

I could grudgingly accept T3 and TS if a T5 on the level of the first two came along.

But if it's gonna be a future war movie, then make it a future war movie.

Uh, I'm pretty sure the original plan was for Connor to die and get replaced by Marcus Wright.

Salvation was a horrible foundation for a trilogy with that concept considering right off the bat they wanted to spit in the faces of the lore by making all the sacrifices to protect John growing up feeling pointless. And the movie felt pointless for removing that element as well, since nothing of any consequence happened besides John and Kyle meeting. It had a horrible original direction and after it removed that concept it became essentially directionless. McG saying he wanted the next film to be about time travel again is proof of that. So either way a TS trilogy would have been horrible.

I rewatched T3 and yeah its pretty bad. I liked it when I was younger but not so much now. It still isnt a terrible movie. There are some things I like. I am fine that it is considered canon

TS had the visuals and tone down for me. The landscape for me was awesome. And the problem for me was that of course John Connor was misused. The idea for a Terminator film not revolving around a Connor is stupid to me. Save that for the comics/books/rest of expanded universe.
And to be fair, no TS isnt the future Cameron painted but 1) TS takes place before the 2029 future Cameron shows in The Terminator, so the strategy couldve changed between 2018 to 2029. 2) Isnt TS an alternate future? They postponed judgement day in T2 so that couldve switched things up ("this isn't the future my mother warned me about"). But in the end whether night or not I didnt really ge tthe future war thing. They shouldve had at least one epic fight between Terminators and humans (I dont really count the climax or the beginning)

I wouldve liked more night battle scenes though

I think at its core Terminator has always been a chase series. And I think for the first in the future trilogy shouldve been another chase movie, just to have a familiar element after making the setting so different. Post T2, the series hasnt been that good. But its not damaged beyond repair
