I have to write a paper on asian immigrants and came across this site www.modelminority.com. Most of the asian guys there are pissed off because they believe that white men view asian women as ****es and that all asian women who date white men are"sellouts".Ive never given this issue any thought but reading this site has really opened my eyes on the way asian men and woman are viewed differently in america. Although some of the things they say are racist(imo) they make good points and I have noticed some of things they complain about.

I am a black dude dating an asian girl(Erz is probably sick of me mentioning it ), and for the most part, I have heard of it from herself, friends of hers, family members, etc. I never really noticed it before I started seeing her, but you will see a lot of white dudes dating asian chicks, which has become pretty commonplace in society. there is a bit of disappointment on their parts that i'm not staying within my ethnicity, but that exists for many racial groups.

i was the only chinese person in my graduating class of 400-or so people in high school and i was treated no differently by the boys than any other girl. most people forgot that i was "different".

many east asian societies are ridiculously patriarchal. in japan, it's not a custom for men to even hold a door open for a woman. all the actions we assign to men in western society in regards to chivalry are traditionally performed by women. it's not quite so unequal anymore, but it's certainly not the same as it is here.

and east asian people do traditionally value their sons more than their daughters, but the families that i'm surrounded by don't think that way anymore.

At any rate, Asiaphilia (a.k.a. Yellow Fever....and yes, I realize that's racist but I didn't make the damn term up so keep your hate mail in your pants) certainly isn't a new phenomenon. But it's the 21st Century, and interracial dating and marriage is at an all time high. Hell, I'm half of an interracial marriage myself (my wife is Dominican). I really don't see what the big deal is. Be with you you like and are attracted to, regardless of their race.
