yeah the preview is a little crazy but I'm pretty sure it skipped over a couple pages so you know we can be surprised or something. what I do know is the end reveal is suppose to be something big for Peter and it will make him want to be Spider-Man 24/7 and Joe Quesada will do covers for it. It's something so big for Spidey they're actually advertising it in other books. it's seriously the first ASM add I think I've seen in a long time.

I actually grabbed that one by accident (yeah, I'm one of those middle-of-the-pile-pullers ) and decided to keep it, even though I usually don't take the variants. I tend to like the normal covers. But I liked how this one reminded me of the Dogs Playing Poker painting. I don't know if that's on purpose or not, but I thought it was funny. Also, there's one seat empty, with an X jacket slung over it. Could it be because that one's off making a movie?

Looking at this preview, doesn't anyone else find it convenient that all the new female supporting characters that Marvel hinted could be Peter's new potential love interests are now essentially off the table (And with very little build-up I might add?) Methinks this is how the writers are paving the way for Mary Jane to come back, perhaps because they realize she's didn't actually drag the book down like they thought.

Of course, maybe they were never intended to be love interests at all. After all, any new potential love interest for Peter was automatically going to be compared to Mary Jane and be completely overshadowed by her regardless. Not to mention that every single time Mary Jane has been written out of the series, Marvel has struggled to find a replacement who is on the same level as her, or even Gwen for that matter. Of course, I'm sure some fans will wonder "if Marvel was planning on getting Peter and MJ back together anyway but not as a married couple, what was the point of One More Day then?"

the upcoming American Son arc may in fact involve the wedding of Harry and Carlie, if this preview indicates anything. Granted, you've also got pairings develop between Aunt May and J. Jonah Jameson Sr. (which was expected) and Randy Robertson and Norah Winters (which was a surprise) and a rekindling between Jonah Jr. and Marla (if the wedding is between them, sheesh); but dramatically, there's more potential out of a love triangle between Harry, Carlie and Lily in that arc. You now have a situation in which Carlie and Lily are like sisters and each of them love the same man, that's the stuff of soap operatic melodrama right there. And if Lily is pregnant with Harry's kid in the mix of all this...YIKES!

Course, this also adds to the criticism that while Peter, since One More Day, has become static, everyone and everything around him is allowed to develop. And in this issue, it seems that this is to be taken literally.

I don't think those preview pages were the very first pages of #591.The preview really looks interesting.Maybe the reboot had as much more to do with Reed than Mephisto.I'm curious.

I have another question about the preview for 591...

In the preview, Reed mentions how he has just discovered that while in the macroverse time went by faster on earth. But if they were in the macroverse before, wouldn't he have known this already?
And I also don't understand how could time go by faster in the macroverse while on earth? How could time go by faster in each respected universe while they are in the other universe?

I hope my questions make sense.

^ your question makes perfect sense. I think Dan Slott doesn't understand the word 'exponential'. The longer they were away from the macroverse the faster time went by there, so surely the longer theyre IN the macroverse the slower it should go by in their world. Instead he seems to have confused his time and therefore the issue is now unreadable because it doesn't make a jot of sense. Ridiculous. Way to screw up, Slott.

The 5 page preview tells us both literally and visually. I get annoyed when people draw premature conclusions as well, but it seems that Dan Slott has most likely gotten confused with his own story/timeline.

I read a little while ago that A:TI #7 is still relevant...

You raise a great point here. I was watching "Frasier" and was thinking how the show stumbled in the final seasons for that very reason. Everyone around him's lives were developing while his stood still. And every potential relationship he got into ended for silly and contrived reasons.

Maybe Joe Q is a Frasier fan.

Well, rather than get the vapors over it, I'm going to take a guess that the manner in which they went to the macroverse made a difference in how they're experiencing time-flow. The first time they went via a wormhole (which we all know from Star Trek screws up time), and this time they "grew" into the macroverse. Why would that make a difference? I don't know. Dimensional and time travel make my head hurt. DS gets paid for headaches. I'll wait for his explanation.
