Assasins Creed

I'm having fun with this game but I don't think I get it yet. I feel like I'm missing something. I hate the map system...it sucks. The graphics and crawling and wall walking are awesome. I get confused a bit on the controls cause I'm new at at. Like the pick pocketing, etc...I go to do the pick pocket and I press the wrong button and stab the guy. LOL I'll get it down soon enough. I'm in Damscus now.

When pickpocketing hold down the B button, don't just tap it. Make sure the person is walking and not stopped or looking around. Push Altair so his hand hits the guy in the back. You'll pick it off every time with no problems. My big mistake was assuming you had to tap the button. Holding it down makes all the difference in the world.

Do you walk normal or in blend mode?

Walk normal. In blend you won't be able to keep up. Hell, you can basically even run up behind them. Just make sure you're walking when you actually go to pick the person's pocket. It's really easy once you get it down. Just keep trying. Also, don't be afraid if it looks like you're going to bump into them. That's basically what you end up doing.

Yea, theres deff a steep learning curve when it comes to the controls, but once you get it, its one of the smoothest and responsive control schemes youll come across. Like the transition from say assassinating a guy with your hidden blade then switching to your sword to block an incoming attack is just awesome. It took me awhile to get it down, but its soo rewarding when you do.

It's not often I like a mix of things, but here, because they played their cards from the get-go, it worked for me.

Also, I think we will follow the Miles family line, AKA the Altair family.
Now I am wondering, was Desmond trained as an assassin or was he sheltered from everything by his assassin parents? I am wondering if he got the training but never joined the brotherhood.

Thats a really good question, and one i dont think we are supposed to know the answer too. I mean he left the "farm" at 16 so its entirely possible he did indeed receive some sort of training. I just hope we get to follow Altair again. It sounds as if hes gonna try and get some more info on the 'Apple of Eden'. Who knows what he does next, i mean Abstergo was only interested in the Apple, maybe Altair found other items?

Well, aren't assassins trained from birth? If that's the case though, I don't see why Desmond wouldn't have just taken out Vidic. We do know that the assassin's caused one large accident trying to either obtain or destroy one of the artifacts that the Templars were trying to get. They've definitely been hunting for others. I think the only real question is whether or not Altair will be hands on gathering the others or will he simply be the one pulling the strings?

I finally accomplished my first stealth assassination

On the guy hiding on his boat. The first time I reached the boat and climbed on top, I didn't realize this guy in front of my was the target, so I grabbed him and threw him off and into the water. It said he escaped and I was very confused.
But the second try I got up and accidently jumped into him, but luckily I stealth killed him before he had any time to react to someone falling out of the sky and onto him.

I don't know why It took me so long to do one properly, and get the Blade in the Crowd achievement.

He took off running from me, but a pair of vigilantes grabbed his ass on the dock. I jumped on his back and took him to the ground. I actually got my Blade in the Crowd achievement on the doctor.

I'm up to the second to final assassination. But keep on falling in the DAMN WATER!:cmad: tips?!

You have to slow down slightly near the water, when you jump to a pole take a split second to stop, re-aim at the next one, and then jump off.

Yeah, just figured it out and took out that nutcase lol. Up to final assassination level as of now...

Can anyone tell me if it's ok to do the first two investigations in Damascus before visiting the Bureau for the first time? I did them first, is that ok? Nothing happens right?

I guess you'll have to tell us... Why did you do that exactly? Just cause you stumbled upon the investigations didn't mean you had to do them... I'm sure it won't harm the game, they will either be accepted as being done, or you'll have to do them again.

Well, for the first one, I stumbled upon it right when I was looking for a viewpoint. When I was looking for the view point it said that I had to pickpocket someone. So after I got the viewpoint I looked on my map and it said I had to pickpocket the guy. Then when I was just free running the second investigation showed up saying I had to eavesdrop this group. So I did both and it said that the Assassin's Memory was complete and I still didn't go to the Bureau.

I must have jumped in the water 10 times before i figured that out. That was the ONLY part of the game i struggled at, and it was all on me. I felt really dumb during that time period.

On a side note. Ubisfot has reported that Assassins Creed has reached the one million units sold mark in its first week.

Just go to the bureau. You're too far gone now. I'm sure it'll be fine. Just get it over with so you can go finish everything without worrying.

Also, when it says "Pickpocket - Lock onto target to begin Pickpocket mission" you don't actually have to start it right then and there, you can walk away and come back later.

I just beat the game guys...One of the MOST INCREDIBLE GAME EXPERIENCES I've ever played...no lie. The story was the most amazing part of it. Felt like a movie and made you feel like an actual assassin. Really incredible and the finale is the best finale in gaming. Sooo many twists and turns...

:wow:

I still don't know what all the complaints were about. I certainly wouldn't call the story "confusing" in any way, shape, or form.

I'm enjoying it. It's like GTA meets Matrix meets Ninja Gaiden. I've only killed 4 targets so far.

Yeah, I honestly don't know what the reviewers were complaining about. It's a very well made, enjoyable game.
