how big are these aliens?
how big are these aliens?
thre is no way that they would realese a 130 million R rated movie.
so there a character arc for the protagonist?
Actually Van Helsing is ripe to be made into a great movie and Del Toro was perfect for it, although this is the first I had heard of Tom Cruise being attached.
How did you read the script?I read the script, and Jesus, I couldn't find anything wrong with it. I mean nothing could really be improved upon.
And for people who want to know:
The Cthulhu does appear in the script. But very briefly. And I dont think he's seen completely either. Just glimpses of him. It's basically a grand scale version of The Thing. I can't wait to see what everything will look like.
This could very well be Del Toro's best film yet.
The Cthultu is about the size of the mountains themselves which are described bigger than Everest. So as you can imagine this thing is ****ing massive.

Especially if it's gay, as Lovecraft wasn't very fond of homosexuals.I am just conveying what I know about the movie from the reviews. 90% of the reviews I've read have said that the gay sex was very gratuitous and out of place, especially for a movie claiming to be a Lovecraft adaptation. If someone made a movie called Cthulhu that was pushing a positive religious message on us I'd come down on it just as hard. Sexual exploration has no place in a Lovecraft story whether it's straight or gay, nor does a happy ending or positive message. Lovecraft's stories are dark, depressing, and devoid of any comfort whether it's physical or spiritual, and that is why they are scary.dude, homophobic much? i get the movie was bad as an adaptation, but you're like, going out of your WAY to emphasize how "gay" this movie was. now i'm against political correctness under most circumstances, but this was was a truly ignorant post.
edit: by the way, looking forward to this movie, del toro rocks.

Yeah. He was also a antisemite, but later married a Jewish girl, so maybe he later accepted men who like men as well. Or not. I dunno.well with his homophobia, don't hold it against Lovecraft since it was just how it was back then; taboo.
