Well, "The Search for Alpha Trion" first introduced female Transformers into the mythos and it explained that they were in danger of dying-out. So much so that Shockwave and Megatron both thought that all female Transformers had gone extinct until Elita-1 and her band of rebels showed up.

So that's the only explaination we got as to why female Transformers were so few and far between.

Supposedly, by Beast Wars-time (300 years after the Autobot-Decepticon War) female Transformers were much more common.

Which would make sense, I guess, since they could just build all the new ladies they need. But I guess it was "female" sparks that were hard to come by or something.

Gah! I hate fembots!
