World Avengers cartoon

Oooh, the Super-Adaptoid in animated awesomeness... *drool*

Corp, you ever catch the old 60's Cap toon with S-A in it. Pretty cool. Sometimes I wish I grew up in the 60's and experienced all the comics and toon through the eyes of a 10 year old.:yay:

Nope, I was never able to sit through the '60s cartoons. I kept looking at them and then looking at the Fleischer Superman cartoons from like decades earlier and wondering, "How did animation somehow go backwards?" I understand now that budgets and animation houses factor into it a lot, but I just never could put how badly animated those '60s cartoons were aside and enjoy them.

Well yeah, lol. Those Supes toons are amazing even by todays standards considering how long ago they were made.

Superman had underwater and space armor in JLU and his own show because I think they were going under the Post-Crisis idea of the time in which Superman could only hold his breath for a really long time (like a few weeks) rather than actually breathing in space or underwater. Thus, he needed some sort of breather to talk or in case he was hit too hard. And one may as well wear a whole new suit if one is going to do that.

I just wondered why Superman never kept his lead Anti-Kryptonite suit handy during his JL tenure.

At any rate, it does look like Kang's minions will be from across time periods: http://marvel.com/images/gallery/story/15042/brian_reed_writes_the_avengers_emh/image/854507

The armor is weird, but, yes, Thor can breath in space because he's a god, but Hulk and no one else can. The Hulk's body won't turn inside out in space like everyone else's. As for why Thor would wear armor...he's a warrior. They like armor.

Armored suits are usually just an excuse for more toy variations, but I figure it will be part of Iron Man's "anti-Kang" gear. And they have already worn "anti-gamma" suits.

The only downside to them all being the same color is telling people apart in hectic fight scenes. "Is that Cap or Clint. Oh, wait, arrows, Clint." But we'll see. I'm curious to where things will stand with Kang and Ultron and even the upcoming alien threat when all is said and done.

Thor didn't need no stinkin' anti-gamma suit. :oldrazz:

That's true, I liked Gamma World although I thought the fights could've been better.

Like Thor being pounded by Abomination & Absorbing Man until he levitates him, Thor could have thrown more hand to hand blows. Hulk vs Abomination could have been better as well, that episode was a perfect time for some JL-level fighting.

I'm noticing a trend with Thor in this cartoon. He seems to be the last-minute-win type. He'll have an entire battle go against him and then get a second wind or something and suddenly beat the living hell out of his opponent.

Wow, what a way to use a "plot device"

Thor also defeated Cpt. America in a powerless state using nothing more than his fighting skills. They're both cool so let's just leave it at that.

When did i say Thor wasn't cool?

That's not very entertaining either and it makes him come off like he's not a good fighter.

I like to see fights like Superman vs Cpt. Marvel where both fighters trade blows going back & forth.

well why don't you keep whining about it. that aught to fix everything right?

Yeah man, don't be that guy. We had a guy that was the same way about Captain America earlier in the thread.

He had a lead-lined anti-kryptonite radiation suit in World's Finest and the series.

If Hasbro does a toy line for the series it better not be 3 3/4".

Agreed, but it probably will be. That seems very popular these days...

Freedom of speech my friend, I'm not trying to fix anything im simply stating how I feel which I have a right to do.

I'm not "whining" per say about Thor, more so than I am the overall fight scenes of The Avengers..

Well, Freedom of Speech is meaningless on the internets. If you get into a pattern of trolling, you will get banned. We're not ganging up on you or nothing, just, you know, letting you know.

Oh & complaining about someone complaining is actually even more annoying

Hey; you're passionate about your favorite hero. I can respect that.

Yeah, just live and let live. The Cap fanatic got his say; BigThor can comment to his heart's content about how Thor is thoroughly mistreated and made to look like a weakling compared to the Hulk and displays all the fighting skill of a mewling kitten and--ahem... Just ignore him if it bothers you. :o

yeah the cap fanatic got his say, but he had to take **** to do it. no free lunches corp:argh:

I mean I'm definately not a troll since I love this show and I was just saying I wish they had better fights on the show. By "fights" I mean fights between the characters, like a Hulk vs Abomination fight or Iron vs Wonder Man.

I think the show has good "action" but not any really good "fights", if you understand what im saying. The show has the Avengers fighting things Kang's robots in a far cooler way than they did against the Masters of Evil (the fight at end was very dissapointing).

I can see what you're saying, actually. The animation isn't terrible, but it's not quite good enough to pull off really exciting fight sequences. I keep thinking back to that Cap/Zemo fight earlier in the season and remembering how jerky and stilted some scenes were. It made the whole thing come off a bit awkward rather than exciting. Compare it to the fights in Young Justice or other DC cartoons, which are animated by Warner Bros.' excellent animation house, and the difference is really pronounced. It's all about the subtle movements and consistency--they're there in the Warner cartoons but not so much in Avengers.

That said, the series still manages to be a lot of fun and pack some good action scenes into each episode.

Actually this version of Thor is one the best handled animated versions so far, he's pretty powerful considering it is a team show. I just wish they portrayed him with better actual fighting skills.

hopefully season 2 gets a disney animation team on it to make it more fluid
