I like Mjolnir's shorter handle in Thor's solo film better and seriously, what's the point of that silver knob at the end?

no clue really BT. but most War hammers had a counter weight like a sword has a pommel to help balance it out.

Well, it would help keep your hand from sliding off the end of the handle while swinging it.

Yeah it would, but Thor usually grips the upper part of the handle right under the head of the hammer.

It just seems a bit unecessary in my opinion, they got it perfect in THOR so I don't see why they decided to change it.
