The score leaves me a bit indifferent. Elfman's contributions have a fun swashbuckling beat to it, Tyler focuses on bombast, but the action stuff can't beat Silvestri's "I Got a Ride", "Seeing, Not Believing" or "Assemble."

I like the thematic continuity the composers maintain. I hear Tyler's IM3 theme, plus Silvestri's Captain America and Avengers themes. I don't think Elfman or Tyler used the T:TDW theme or Natasha's motif though.

I'm kinda upset that the Avengers Assemble main theme is not there anymore. They tore it apart and salvaged what was left of it.:csad:

Found it :) Being an Elfman fan, I can really tell the difference between Tyler's tracks and Elfman's. If they couldn't have got Silvestri back, I wish they would've gone with Elfman to score the whole movie.

I feel that this soundtrack isn't as well structured as Silvestri's, Tyler goes overboard by making it to operatic .

People who've seen the movie say that parts of Silvestri's score is tracked into the movie, with a few cues likely being rearranged and re-recorded.

Got to be honest, the one track I heard sounded like Tyler trying to do his own version of the Avengers Silvestri score from the first film, but it's not quite as good.

I'm not trying to be mean. I like a lot of Tyler's music. This just didn't wow me as much as the Silvestri theme. It sounds more generic. Silvestri's sounded big and iconic.

Haven't heard any of it yet. I've heard cues that sound evocative and similar...just not as good.

Again it disappoints me that there are so many compromises on the integrity of the scores of the film.

John Williams doesn't work on Star Wars Rebels, but Kevin Kiner uses a lot of his cues AND his music at least sounds like Star Wars music.

The soundtrack is up on YouTube, and after listening to it... I'm still underwhelmed. Maybe it works gangbusters in the film, but I wish Marvel had brought back Silvestri.

I agree. Tyler IMHO didn't rise to the occasion with his pieces. Just sounds like a more generic imitation version of the Silvestri score.

the score uses some IM3 and Thor themes and TA themes

Well I haven't noticed any of those yet. Which tracks use the Iron Man 3 and Thor themes?

As much as I love the Marvel Cinematic Universe it disappoints me that a lot of the films lack really dynamic, big, bombastic and iconic film scores. The First Avengers and Avengers were two of the rare films to have some really great music for the MCU.

I found the soundtrack decent but pretty boring overall. Nothing particularly memorable about it. Then again, there isn't much context for it without seeing the movie yet.

There's parts in the movie that really go well.

I thought Elfman killed it in his bits to be honest, got a SM2 vibe from some of his stuff.

I totally forgot Elfman was doing the music for this. It felt like a natural progression of Silvestri's work on the first film with all the familiar cues and character themes returning.

I liked that they brought back the Iron Legion theme from Iron man 3 when Tony was suiting up in the Hulkbuster.
