Avi Arad talks more about Incredible Hulk

That would be a cool way to end, maybe needing the smarter Grey Hulk to beat Abomination

still wouldnt work, seeing as how Abomination will still be as smart or smarter than Grey Hulk. plus, Grey Hulk is also weaker than Green Hulk...way weaker.

See that....right in front of you ?....that's the cracks in my Hulk knowledge shining through:csad:

lol... wikipedia helps ;)...

I had a feeling Grey Hulk wasn't as strong b/c he is more in control than green Hulk but i figured he was smarter than Abomination.:csad:

Grey Hulk is smarter than Green Hulk but isnt a genius like Banner. While Banner is a genius, Emil is close to rocket scientist type level. Smart but not genius.

You know this ‘The Hulk may be grey in the new Incredible Hulk movie’ business that’s been floating around the internet for the last couple of days? Well, as it turns out, he won’t be. Move along, nothing to see here!

How do we know this? Well, just this afternoon we spoke exclusively to Avi Arad, ace comic book movie producer and the guy whose casual mention of a ‘new colour’ at a round table in LA sparked a net-geek frenzy on a scale rarely seen, and he confirmed it. Simple.

“It was a joke!” laughs Arad, in town to talk up Spider-Man 3, which opens on May 4. “Here’s what it was. There were 30 people around a table, and they said ‘is there going to be a grey Hulk?’ And I was thinking about it and I said, ‘who knows?’ It was one of those moments. I had just got back from Japan and I was trying to talk about Spider-Man and this guy was pushing me on The Hulk so I thought I’ll be coy. I don’t know what colour it is, and all of a sudden it’s headline news.”

But Arad did mention a new colour – so will the eponymous star of Louis Letterier’s movie, due out in 2008, still be green? Or orange? Or pink with yellow stripes?

“It’s a different shade of green,” confirms Arad. “But the colour is not like the old Hulk. And no, there’s no grey Hulk.”

Talk of a grey Hulk had led to fevered speculation that this version of Ol’ Green/Greyskin would have some intelligence, and even be able to speak, much like the grey Hulk in the comic books. However, not content with debunking one rumour, Avi swiftly shot down another.

“He’ll be instinctive, like a primal creature. That’s what’s interesting. There’s no smarts. My dog is the gentlest animal out there, but he hates the plumber. He won’t fight with anybody, hates the plumber!”

Of course, The Hulk will be taking on a bigger foe than The Plumber in The Incredible Hulk, namely The Abomination, but Arad is adamant that Marvel and Universal are heading in the right direction with the movie, particularly the casting. Last week’s news that Edward Norton – indie darling and star of resolutely uncommercial films, for the most part – had signed on to play Bruce Banner. Especially when it was further revealed that he had actually turned down the Ang Lee version, in 2003. So, why the change of heart for Norton?

“I think we have a much better story,” reveals Arad. “I think he likes Louis Leterrier. It’s a very different movie, one of my personal goals was to make another Hulk movie where Hulk is heroic, lovable, the real Frankenstein story. That’s what we set out to do. To me, I was stuck – literally – if it wasn’t Ed Norton. I was sitting, thinking ‘he has to make it happen’.”

Arad also mentioned that the casting of “an amazing” Betty – Banner’s love interest – should be confirmed within the next couple of days. Keep ‘em peeled, people!

I highly doubt him being grey, you have to think here,EVERY MAJOR HULK PRODUCT SHOWS HIM AS GREEN!.engine of destruction was a great sell,he was green in it,ultimate allience hulk-green,new mrvel mmpg-green.I think he will be a darker green but not grey.It doesnt make sense to do that and alot of fans complained that his green was just to light(even though it was accurate) and notice the mention of the hulk show, hes green in it as well.

NBorton knew Angs Hulk was a piece of crap. This is good news, and speaks volumes about the new script.

"PRAISE THE LORD I'M GREEN!!!!"

ROFL!! I'm feelin' yah... Praise is the word! FOR US WHO REALIZE WHAT THIS MEANS i THINK IT COULD MEAN LIKE THE BLUR STUDIO'S HULK!! I would say a cool shade of olive would be good!!

Still though, as long as they get the skin texture right just about any shade will look good!! Considering that the first HULK was the first entirely CGI person I'm sure the past 4 years has been plenty of time for corrections in that area.

Am I the only one who liked Ang Lee's "Hulk"? I thought the story was pretty good.

I am glad he is green, although one day I hope to see the grey Hulk on screen.

No...you aren't alone....there are those of us who liked it. It could have used a few changes here and there to make it spectacular....but it was still good.

I am extremely glad to hear that Hulky will still be green......I was worried there for a bit.

No I enjoyed Ang Lee's Hulk quite a bit and will continue watching it. I'm extremely happy though that we'll get a chance to see a whole different take on the character now so we'll have two completely different and hopefully awesome films. It'd be awesome to get this chance with other franchises however Hulk is such a big merchandising machine that it's worth the risk to give it another shot to be a finanical success as well as it should be instead of a dissapointment in that area.

This indeed good news about the script.

Anyone else put off by the comment... “There’s no smarts. My dog is the gentlest animal out there, but he hates the plumber. He won’t fight with anybody, hates the plumber” ??? How are you going to make the Hulk heroic if he has the brains of a puppy? One of the problems with Ang's mess of a movie is that the Hulk was more victim then hero. How is making him dumb but lovable going to help anything? Marvel pulled it off with the Defenders/Savage Hulk twenty-five years ago but that sure can play cheesy in the 21st century.

Well, that all sounds a lot better than what he said the other day.

Am I the only one who liked Ang Lee's "Hulk"? I thought the story was pretty good.

No, your not the only, i thought it was superb, and i am genuinly gutted we wont get a proper sequel to it, ever.

I am thinking realy that the grey Hulk is pretty much losing any relevance. The current green Hulk in the comics is quite a bit like the merged Hulk and therefore seems even smarter then grey Hulk. I wonder if Grey hulk will ever appear again, given the current Hulk.
