Awake starring Jason Isaacs

So this may become appointment television for me, but I don't see how they can stretch the premise for more than a season or two. I think Awake would have been better suited for a cable network.

Finally watched this thing, and it was as good as I hoped it'd be. Very compelling.

Only one request: Can the mods or admins *please* change the thread title?

Someone cause an infraction in this thread so a mod actually takes notice of this thread.

I'll send a PM to a mod for this, Mad Men and any other threads that need an update.

Well it had the best numbers all season for NBC in that timeslot, which isn't saying much. It has a poor lead in but maybe it can remain stable and we'll at least get all 12 remaining episodes.

The series premiere of NBC's Awake drew just a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating, and 6.247 million viewers. While that's far better than the 1.4 rating for the spring premiere of The Firm in that timeslot, it's just a tenth better than the premiere of Prime Suspect last Fall.

That's pretty good, especially since NBC's Thursday night line-up has been pretty much lackluster in the ratings.

It's probably going to have to pull a GRIM and have strong holds for the rest of its run to get a second season.

Spring is usually when ratings start dipping hard though.

Yeah I liked this a lot but Im wondering how they can stretch the premise. But for right now (aka 1 ep) Im enjoying the ride

I don't blame NBC. It's not their fault that the Nielson viewers have poor taste.

Nielsen needs to be done away with for good. It's so antiquated.

I'm getting tired of NBC's failure to launch shows....

Part of the problem is that with no football they don't have many highly rated programs on right now. They've got The Voice and that's pretty much it. Compared to NBC's lineup it actually did quite well. We just hoped it would've done better based on other networks. But with Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday programming that ranges from 0.9-2.2 in the demo and 3.5-6.5 million viewers it actually did "great".

The Voice does well, don't know how much they promoted the show this week. So Awake will still stay on if it doesn't crater below 1.0 in the demo and could come back for a second season (at least another 13 episodes).

The episode was ok, but I see it quickly evolving into a cop procedural with a nice gimmick.

So which reality do you guys think is true?

They're scientist, asleep in stasis machines on a mission to Mars and he's dreaming of being a cop and the accident was a malfunction.

i was pleasantly surprised with this one. I liked it so much I'm afraid to even continue with it until I hear it gets renewed

If this show doesn't work, Jason Issacs can always go back to movies.

BTW, has he ever played American? Because he does a good job at playing American.

Am I the only one who thinks BD Wongs character comes across as unlikeable?,not sure if its intentional or just my own perception of him.

^probably intentional Isaac's character said he himself did'nt like him because he was too aggressive and blunt with him

Definitely intentional that he's unlikable. What an amazing pilot. Everything about the show was fantastic. It obviously wont go too long, Issacs himself said he knows how it ends. I'll be tuning in to watch it thats for sure

good episode. im def on the side that hes in limbo and living out what ifs in his head as his last judgment.

I really liked it, though I share the concern of others in regards to how long they can keep the show going. I would just hate for it to be cancelled before we got an answer to what is going on.

That scene where he freaked out and cut his hand was great. I laughed, but in a "Holy crap, I can't believe he did that!" Sort of way.

was a great episode i thought it was even better than the pilot and that ending has me intrigued

really love this whole find clues in 1 reality to solve a case in another
