OKLAHOMA, UNITED STATES - A baby girl has died after she was placed in a washing machine that went through an entire spin cycle.
10-day-old Maggie-May Fiddler was inside the washing machine for up to 40 minutes before being discovered, reported the Daily Mail.
The mother, Lyndsey Fiddler, had placed the baby into the washing machine together with a pile of laundry.
A relative calling in on the family found the mother unconscious on the floor, and Maggie-May missing. She found the baby's body after hearing a strange sound from the washing machine.
Paramedics tried to revive the baby after she was pulled out of the washing machine, but she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Oklahoma police have charged Fiddler with second degree manslaughter after an investigation revealed that the washing machine had gone through a full-spin cycle.
She is suspected of being addicted to crystal meth and taking it the night her daughter was killed.
Fiddler has had a history of drug abuse and assault and family members have tried to revoke her parental rights before the birth of her third child.
She was arrested in April for consuming drugs while four months pregnant.
Her other two sons have been taken into care by social workers.
The Daily Mail said that the infant's father could not believe his girlfriend deliberately killed their daughter.
Police officers at the scene of crime were overcome by emotion; many were deeply affected by what they saw.
