Back to the Future 4

He doesn't have to tell him about the time machine or Doc. All he has to do is keep him home and tell him not to go anywhere. That's what parents do.

And we all know he isn't gonna sneak out. :cwink:

All of these dates in the series were crazy.

1985
1955
2015
Alternate 1985
1885

Marty wrote the letter to Doc in 1955 warning him about the terrorists in 1985 in the first film. At the very least, Doc could have written him a letter..."Don't Open until 2015'. It's such an unnecessary trip that Doc would never take after warning about the disasterous consequences of Time Travel.

Even if Doc didn't want to warn Marty in 1985, he could have just told 2015 future Marty during his initial trip to 2015 a few days before the Biff crime. Geez, Marty even said to look him up. It's not like 2015 Marty would have been shocked to see Doc again, he remembers about time travel.

I think what is even more messed up is the idea that if Marty left the present to go into the future, in a sense 'dissapearing' from the present, how the hell can he go into a future where he doesnt exist? Its no different than if he hid in a cave for 30 years, its not like there's gonna be an older version of him
(with kids) out in the world as if he never left. There's no way he could have a 'future self'.

Not sure if Rain Man, I mean Michael J. Fox, would be up for this.

U are a heartless ****, did you know that?

Why all the hate for part 3? I mean, neither compare to the original, but in a lot of ways I thought part 3 worked better than 2. There weren't any obvious plot holes like there were in part 2, and I thought the humor worked better in 3 than in 2. All in all I thought it was a solid way to end the trilogy.

And this isn't a knock on part 2 btw. I personally think BTTF is one of those rare trilogies without a single weak link.

Eventually there will be a remake but hopefully its 25 years from now. Universal will want some money.

Shia LaBeouf as Marty
Kelsey Grammer as Doc

Anything else I'd be happy with.

Ok, if they ever did a re-make...i'd be up for those actors. But ONLY those actors.

Though I wish they would just make a 4th and do a CGI Marty, he could still do the voice. :P

i think it was lame how at the end of part 1, Doc was able to make a machine that didn't need to run on plutonium, but on garbage. however, in part 2 and 3, they didn't even use it. but instead they had to resort to using lightning. ugh.

I just saw the first one on TV and it was interesting:

- The movie starts with Biff being all powerful and mean, and the McFly's not doing that great and how Lorraine and George met when Lorraine's dad hit George with his car and the marriage showing signs of crumbling.
- The movie ends with the McFly's doing well, Lorraine and George having a happy marriage and Biff being all nice.

Um...okay.

The machine you're talking about is Mr. Fusion, which Doc had installed in 2015; seriously - it's not on the car until he comes back from the future at the very end of Part I. Ergo, it wouldn't have existed even back in 1955, and with plutonium not readily available in that time period they didn't have any choice but to rely on lightning.

Next, they USED Mr. Fusion. A third of the way into Part II, Doc throws more trash into it after they rescue Jennifer in 2015 and get ready to come back to 1985.

Finally, the only other time you see lightning is at the end of Part II, and then its effect is completely accidental. There's no lightning of any kind in Part III because it's no longer necessary by that point - the car still has Mr. Fusion (BTW, Mr. Fusion only powers the time circuits and the flux capacitor).

OH GOD NO !!!!!! please the original trilogy is good enough . A fourth movie is not necessary .

Yeah, Doc Brown and Marty even have that discussion in Part III. "Well, we still have Mr. Fusion." "Mr. Fusion only powers the time circuits and the flux capacitor. The car runs off of ordinary gasoline. It always has."

I was left with the impression that just because Mr. Fusion was installed, it didn't mean that the flux capacitor couldn't still be powered by plutonium or by being struck by lightning, hence why Doc was sent back to 1885 when he was struck by lightning. In Part 3 they certainly never used plutonium as a means to travel through time. Just because they never showed trash being thrown into Mr. Fusion doesn't mean they didn't use it. I always assumed after it was referenced in Part II it was simply implied that was what they used to power the flux capacitor.

Anyone think Elisabeth Shue was hot in 2 and 3? I thought that they did a great job portraying Lea Thompson and Crispin Glover as a few decades older (give or take a few years) then Michael J. Fox when they went back to 1985.

Actually, that wasn't Crispin Glover in part 2. Apparently (no real surprise here) everyone on the first movie hated working with him, and he demanded way too much money for the second so they just wrote him out of the story, and hired someone that looked like him.

although, i think a 4th BTTB is unnecessary, it would be kinda of poetic if it came out in 2015

It's kind of depressing realizing how far off the mark they will probably be about 2015. We'll be lucky if cars are running off something other than gasoline by 2015, let alone flying. And I want my hover board damn it!

Yeah, but at the beginning of Part II there IS a shot re-used from the first film as George and Lorraine walk away from the screen door, and as such that IS him. And he ended up successfully suing for the use of that footage.

For the 2015 scenes they pulled an impersonator off the backlot studio tour and made him up, and then hung him upside-down on that weird hover-harness thing so that the difference would be even less noticeable; then, of course, for the rest of the movie they had history re-written by Biff so that George was dead in the alternate 1985. Then for George's brief appearance at the end of Part III, they put sunglasses on the guy and kept him in the background of the scene. Problem solved.

god i avnt watched this series since i was a young child
so much will be different
i look forward to it
