Bad Boys III

For some reason, this just feels... outdated.

Which the film *might* be self aware of with that last scene from the trailer in which the “new” generation is singing Bad Boys which annoys Smith and Lawrence.

The cinematography and the action sequences look really well shot, and honestly I do love the fact that it feels more small scale like the first movie. Martin does look pretty out of shape though, but that could be apart of the joke with him wanting to retire. It's great seeing Joe Pantoliano back as well, and I had no idea he was even in it.

For anyone who wanted to know what this film is even about...

"Marcus Burnett is now a police inspector and Mike Lowery is in a midlife crisis. They unite again when an Albanian mercenary, whose brother they killed, promises them an important bonus."

Well they justified why he's out of shape.

I lol'ed at "We gonna pull ourselves over later". I will keep an eye on it.

It's not that he's just heavier. He seems slower in general, both in movement and speech.

He's only 4 years older than Smith too.

That's actually part of the appeal to me which may well speak of my age lol. Nearly every big budget action movie these days is a CBM or sci fi/fantasy and don't get me wrong, I love those as well, but outside of the Bond, Mission Impossible and Fast & Furious franchises we don't get as many big budget conventional action movies, they are usually budgeted smaller so we don't get films like Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Rambo, The Rock, True Lies, Con Air, Face/Off, Cliffhanger etc.....and I miss those type of action movies.

Yup, sold.

I wonder why they haven't been promoted yet. You think after the **** they did 20 years ago warrants a very large promotion. Unless they want to be here still.

You can't top the coked out fever dream of the last movie so I'm okay with them scaling it back.

God, that second movie is so ****ing awesome.

He's on meds and off all the other recreational drugs he used to be on. I heard heard he has some kind of "disorder." I'm not sure if it's actually bipolar disorder or what.

All the comments on his appearance are kinda weird.
I think y'all are weirdly spoiled by Hollywood and think that everyone can and should get in shape for a role. I don't see why they need an explanation why Marcus/Martin isn't in great shape. Especially when he was never in crazy shape to begin with. Not everyone is Brad Pitt, Will Smith, etc. People age and for someone like Lawrence who isn't always in movies, especially action ones, it didn't strike me as odd he isn't skinny like he was in Bad Boys 1 or even in Bad Boys 2 shape

It's not really "high" budget, but we do have John Wick.

I do agree though. I love genre movies, but it's nice to be getting another "regular" action movie that doesn't look like DTV material. Especially with 2 people like Smith and Lawrence who have so much chemistry

However, I'm very cautious about this. January release+directors with very low filmographies (I mean not that I heard anything bad about them, but even their previous indies don't seem to have a lot of buzz)+Bay not returning has me a little worried. But I think at the least it'll be fun to see Mike Lowry and Marcus interact again

On another note: kinda weird they didn't bring Gabrielle Union back. I know she has that show with Jessica Alba where she reprises her BBII role. And I know she said she was down to come back for the movie. I assume she'll get a cameo or something

Theme seems to be Will Smith hasn’t done anything to advance in his personal life so that may be a reason why Gabriel Union isn’t back. Still single with no family.

I mean in defense of Lawrence, the guy is 54 years old and had his fair share of personal troubles over the years. The first Bad Boys movie came out over 24 years ago. He's not a young man anymore.

I mean it's just age in general. Not everyone's going to be as insane fit as Tom Cruise as they get closer to 60.

The dude is literally getting ribbed all over the internet an as the recent comments have mentioned when is it okay fat shame all of a sudden. Funny how media in general love to prop up big women but when its a dude he shouldn't be in that shape and should hit the gym. What a bloody joke.

P.S Trailer looks on point. Can't believe they actually made this happen. Now we need rush hour 4 and Last Friday please Hollywood.

Martin Lawrence looks like what most men his age would look like, and this is being made fun of. Most guys don't age the way Tom Cruise or Will Smith have. Or Keanu Reeves or Nic Cage.

I had no idea until this morning people were body shaming Lawrence for looking his age. He's reality to most people who don't have personal trainers.
