Bad Boys III

Caught this last night. I thought it was about on par with the first but much better than the second. A main reason for that is that it had a tighter narrative and far less stupid jokes (Looking at you, Mr. Bay).

Saw it last night as well. Im a fan of the last 2 movies.

This one is a pretty decent buddy cop action comedy.

Its not a 10/10 but its enjoyable and fun. The duo still got it.

I must say i didnt buy that twist storyline though. Not one bit. But it didnt bother me much.

That story line was a textbook "we came with up some new stuff we didnt know actually have happened in the distant past within this movie universe and we never hinted at it in the previous movies before because its actually made up (and we didnt really took the time to make it smoother) so we can have a story with twists , enjoy."

Still a 7,5/10 movie for me. Im in for the 4th one.
I agree, the twist felt very forced just to give Mike some depth. It just came off like a lazy movie trope.

Finally caught this. Very pleasantly surprised. A solid, well directed, FUN action romp with Smith and Lawrence. I think these two new directors did better action than Bay. Its not as flashy and as over the top and explosion laden as Bay but its very visceral and surprisingly brutal at times. These new guys are very, very competent directors.

This was also the first Bad Boys movie with a memorable villain. A villain with a very personal tie to Will Smith. The twist is nothing we havent seen before in other action movies but its executed well. And of course Smith and Lawrence’s chemistry are on point. They dont bicker nearly as much as they did in the prior two installments (which, if im being honest always kind of grated on me, i never really felt their friendship because they were CONSTANTLY at each other’s throats). Here they really do act like two mature guys who’ve been lifelong friends and care about each other.

Solid solid movie. I think we all wrote this film off by default but against the odds they pulled off a legit good popcorn movie.

Loren Balfe did the score? In that case, he is 2 for 2 with me. I liked his work on Mission Impossible:Fallout as well.

Hearing the original theme again gave me so much nostalgia in this. It really was great that they brought it back after it was noticeably absent in 2.

Lotne Balfe is quickly becoming one of my favorite composers working right now. His score for this is aces and his MI Fallout score was just incredible.

I kind of randomly ended up seeing this today and really enjoyed it! I'm a casual fan of this franchise (haven't seen BB2 in it's entirety) but bring on a fourth film. Curious to see more and I would like this directing team to come back.

Caught this a couple weeks ago. I have a soft spot for Bad Boys 1 as dated as it is now, however Bad Boys 2 left such a sour taste in my mouth that in addition to so many years passing, I thought this was going to be a terrible movie.

Wow was I wrong. This was the my favorite entry yet with the best possible mix of groundedness of the first and action of the second. In fact, while the action is not as elaborate or "impressive" as Bad Boys 2, its a heck of a lot more coherent therefore making them better than the prior installment.

I think the 4th won't match the highs this one hit but I want another one under these directors because they know how to make Bad Boys fun while also giving it heart.

Finally caught this, and man did I enjoy it. This how you do a sequel to a nostalgic franchise. Smith and Lawrence were just amazing, they had me howling at parts, and the storyline, though a little cliche, was actually quite touching at parts.

The action wasn't Bay, far from it in fact, but it wasn't bad and for their first effort was a good try. Bring back these directors for a 4th Sony!

Oh, and there were 2 cameos that had me and my friend laughing and cheering, both quite close to the start.

8/10

I preferred this action to Bay’s. Bay’s was bombastic. This was more hard hitting and visceral. This really felt like an R rated film.

I didn't think the action was bad, but Bay just has a certain style for action that I associate with this franchise and I did miss it a bit won't lie. It was a minor quibble though in an otherwise thoroughly enjoyable movie.

You definitely did. :argh:

It's a solid action movie comedy, but a definitely a step down from both the first and second movie.

And I had a problem with some of the Fast and Furious-style soap opera writing, as well.

Adil & Bilal are no Michael Bay....

And they are no (any current and past action director who's better than them) either.

They should have never let Joe Carnahan go. I get why he wasn't willing to compromise.

P.S. (Huge spoilers):
That first "post-title scene" pissed me off. I'm not looking forward to the fourth one if they're planning what I think they're planning. You don't just redeem the Captain's killer like that because you want to ape Fast and Furious.

Shame you didn’t like it more JKR, even with high expectations I thoroughly enjoyed it

All of you who don't like Bad Boys II clearly don't get art

I hated that so much. I really enjoyed the movie, but that scene royally annoyed me.
The whole idea was annoying, but the actor wasn't even that good that I can see him going head to head with Smith and Lawrence for a whole film.

Was it? This was really tame by R rated film standards. Nothing about this action felt that hard hitting. I've seen harder hitting stuff from TV-14 stuff.

It wasn't. Still violent enough, but definitely less than the first two. It had an overall tamer feel and less of a mean streak (even than the first one, which wasn't as mean spirited as the sequel, but when the **** went down... it went DOWN!).

Other than being athletic, he was actually pretty bad in the role, too much of teddy bear to be a believable bad guy and not gifted enough to convey any internal conflict.

Man this was so much damn fun. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence's chemistry is still on point even after all these years and the action sequences are really well done, especially in the second half. I am definitely down for a fourth movie and I also hope Ammo returns, because I ended up enjoying those characters a lot more than I thought I would. Alexander Ludwig was great here and my god at what they did with Vanessa Hudgens. Not only did she look insanely hot this entire movie, but she got to kick a lot of ass as well which was awesome to see.

8/10
Yeah, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence were great, but man Vanessa Hudgens was so hot she RULED in this!:wowe:
