Season 2 Premiere Ratings Steady With Season 1

The 70-minute premiere drew 2.1 million viewers on HBO at 9 p.m. That is up approximately 5% from the Season 1 premiere. When factoring in an encore and those who watched on HBO Go and HBO Now, the total rises to 3 million. The series premiere drew 3.3 million viewers when encores and streaming were factored in initially, meaning the Season 2 premiere was down approximately 10%.

While not staggering numbers, it is important to remember that “Westworld” Season 1 averaged an estimated 13.2 million viewers per episode across platforms once all views were tallied, putting it on par with HBO’s number one series, “Game of Thrones.”

Watched S1E1 this morning, and it was unexpectedly enjoyable, hough at the same time somewhat confusing. I had assumed, after the events of Season 1, we were done with the flashbacks, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all, and I'm not entirely sure which timeline is the clear one at the moment.

The end of the episode saw Teddy (and all - or most, of the other hosts) all drowned in that ocean, and yet moments before we saw Deloris & Teddy talking, so either Deloris killed Teddy, or the Teddy we saw was an old vessel (for lack of a better word) with the one we saw talking to Deloris being the latest model - if that makes sense?

Also, that Tiger; was it an actual Tiger, or something more ... prehistoric?

So odd to hear Skaarsard not sound like Floki.

I did not put that together. Needed more eyeshadow.

Curiosly, was it explained in this episode, or last season what happened to Stubbs? He was captured, or knocked out by that Ghost Tribe, and yet here he is, in perfect health, with no mention of what happened to him? Maybe he's a replica?

He's always been a self-centred jerk. He's all about himself, and at this moment in time, that's survival.

Yeah, whatever meta commentary may be mined from their interactions doesn’t make up for the fact that the guy is terrible. I hope we don’t spend the whole season following them wandering around the park looking for Maeve’s daughter only for her to change her mind or be denied her reunion in some way or another.

If I understood this ep correctly, the scenes with Bernard and the Delos rep (?) happen just after the end of S1 final and the scenes with Bernard and Floki are X amount of time after that. Correct ?

I'm not quite sure what is going through her head (if anything coherent); presumably her daughter hasn't awoken per Maeve, and as such, will still be running a different program - a program where Maeve isn't her mother, so Maeve showing up for that grand reunion, well, it isn't going to quite be the loving reunion really...

I must be one of the few that enjoys his character. He's not a hero or in this for an ideal or freedom, or at this point, even greed. He just wants to survive and get out of the nightmare. Him having to face hardships is pretty funny because he's so I'll equipped for hardships and after last season it's nice seeing him be put through the ringer. Im hoping he ultimately turns out to be a Jaime storyline. Starts out as a complete ****, later on reveal that there is some decency in him, and then over time turn him into a character that will do the right thing.
