Break Bad (v.) 1. To challenge convention 2. To defy authority 3. To raise hell

Meet Walter White, high school chemistry teacher. Sleepwalking through life when, boom, a terminal diagnosis changes everything. Liberates him. Empowers him to use his chemistry skills anew: to man a rolling drug lab and finance his family's future. Breaking Bad: Change the Equation.

Premieres Sunday, January 20 @ 10PM | 9C.

Has anyone else seen the previews? The show looks amazing, Bryan Cranston is a great actor and reminds me a lot of my own chemistry teacher. Its about time I have a good show to look forward to at least until the Shield returns.

Yeah I highly doubt that Walt did that, and if he did.....

Well, since Thread Manager came through, my post looks all kinds of idiotic now....

But anyways, loved this episode. Can't wait till next week. Heisenberg has returned!

No way Walt poisoned the kid.

Yeah I highly doubt that Walt did that, and if he did.....

I don't know. Hear me out at least. I mean, Walt has got to do some hardcore stuff if he's going to win against Gus.

The season finale is supposed to end with a purely visual shot that will have viewers saying "OMG, no!"...so maybe it's the poisonous cigarette in Walt's house/car/possession. If the kid dies, it would definitely have that effect. Even Cranston said after playing Walter White for four years, he didn't see the end coming. So maybe Walt does sink to that level, murders a kid to win against Gus, because he wins Jesse back and gets him on his side.

It makes sense to me, but just a theory.

I think Walt did it. Gilligan said that we (the audience) were going to hate Walt in an interview before the season began.

He did it. Watch the scene with Jesse again; it's like he knows how far he's fallen.

Damn.

Yeah, the more I think about it the more I'm convinced. I wish I didn't come to that conclusion because if I'm right it's obviously a big reveal spoiled by brilliant speculation.

However, whether it's right or wrong that Walt poisoned the kid, it's still an amazing plot possibility. And even if it's wrong, there should be a lot of other amazing stuff going down in the finale.

I was actually thinking this exact same thing.

Really great episode. I'm pretty sure this will be Aaron Paul's Emmy sub.

Honestly, I have no idea where this show can go. The finale is really starting to feel like the series is ending. If they are going to show Walt in this light, damn, damn and damn.

16 more episodes left after this season, so, it's pretty crazy and a testament to the writers. They're all demi-gods.

Gilligan has a plan from the start and envisioned a 5 season arc, so evidently there will be a lot to get through in the final season. Maybe it's Walt vs. Jesse or Walt vs. Hank or both? Who knows...

It's possible that Walt did it, but as Walt himself said, at what point would he do it? The schedules don't match.

True.

I still think the episode supports either theory, Gus or Walt. Maybe I'm blinded by Cranston's recent interview, because, Walt doing something this evil? That's definitely an, "Oh ****" moment to which Cranston hints at.

Ahhh, I'm not sure, but I love the fact that I don't know.

I really hope Walt didn't sink to that level to poison the kid. However its entirely possible that he did because Walt with his history over the last several years on the show cannot be afforded reasonable doubt. If he did do it how did he get the cigarette is a big question for me. I know the pat down at the office is a possiblity but that seems like a remote one because I don't see that big guy as being that smooth of a pickpocket.

Gus and Walt have been playing chess against each other all season Jesse has just been a pawn in their game. They've played him like a fiddle all season bending him to their will. The only real difference is Walt really cares about the kid's well being as Gus could kill him at anytime.

Walt essentially murdered Jane through inaction, I really don't think it's out of the realm of possibility for him to have somehow poisoned the kid, but I don't think he did it. I hope he didn't go that far at least.

Yeah, but Walt had his reasons for not helping Jane. He was trying to help Jesse. He knew she was a bad influence.

So, you're saying Walt did something truly terrible to justify his plan? I know Walt cares deeply for Jesse, but considering his situation, and the threats to his family, Walt needs Gus dead. In Walt's current view, family > Jesse.

Is it next Sunday, yet? I'm with Soapy, although I think (sadface) that Walt did the deed, I sure as hell hope not.

No doubt he did it. It also explains why Gus magically turns away from his vehicle. I think he was surprised by Jesse saying that Brock was poisoned and he was thinking its purpose. Gus has always been many steps ahead of Walt so it's hardly unbelievable for him to have figured out that the poison was so Walt could win back Jesse and distract Gus. I think Gus was on to that, which is why he doesn't approach his vehicle.

So it explains that all-knowingness we see Gus have at the end believably. After all, Gus would start theorizing the second Jesse tells him Brock was poisoned. I think so anyway.

On that matter, all I said was that the schedules don't match. At what point would he do it?

OR... his plan was exactly what Walter said. And once Jesse mentioned the poison, he was surprised that Walter was still alive and Jesse was oh-so-calm. Which is why he predicted by foul play as he approached the vehicle.

Both sides can be argued.

But what hasn't been argued is the scheduling. At what point would Walter poison the kid? That's the big question that needs to be answered in order to support the other side. We know how Gus could have done it... when Jesse was cooking.

We don't know how much time he had between the visit with Saul and his time alone in the house.

He got someone else to do it. The synopsis for the season finale says that Walt has a surprising ally. Maybe he got whoever that is to do it?

Also, MEGA HUGE SPOILER for season finale: [BLACKOUT]Doors are expensive![/BLACKOUT]

Jesse said he had in the morning when he left for work. The schedule doesn't match. Walt never had access to that pack of cigarette.
